Re: Oxygen Bar and Needlework Shop
Thanks for all the welcomes you dearies, you.
I've had an idea of what to do here now. I'm going to start with a craft project.. something I think we might find interesting. It will be like one of the galleries. I'll continue to add links to instruction sites, patterns, ideas for use, etc. about this project. We can discuss or ask questions. Any who have an example of this type of work are welcome to jump in.
What do y'all think, huh roomie?
I could start with something.

Kewl! I can chime in with help if it's one of the few things I know anything about or I can ask intelligent questions (insert smirk here) if it's something I know nothing about.

@Sahi - thanks for the link. I must admit I'm interested to see what you do :)
And Sher & Seitherin - I love the craft project idea! I was helping a friend today with her quilting and bemoaning the fact that I have nothing on the go at the moment, I'd love a bit of inspiration!

Re: Oxygen Bar and Needlework Shop
Ok, this is a starter for my idea. As some of you know, with my new house I am doing themes in each room. My bedroom, mostly thanks to this beautiful black laquer panel piece of art with mother-of-pearl I found, is oriental themed. I couldn't afford to buy all new black laquer furniture, so I got the idea to paint all the furniture black laquer myself. While a timely and strenuous chore, it has been most satisfying and turned out beautifully.
Ok, ok, I'm rambling here. So, following that theme there I have been creating some of the art to decorate the walls also.
Here is a link to a cross-stitch picture I am working on at the present.
Thai Dancers
Much of my decorating items are a result of my trip to Thailand. :-) Thanks again, Angelus.
Now, we can begin the discussing and asking of questions and stuffs. ;-p
oooopsss

Also, though most of you may have already perused these pages, I am posting the link to my gallery of art via stitch, glass bead and crochet.

Re: Oxygen Bar and Needlework Shop
i get that way about latchhook. a couple years ago, i got the itch to make a biiiiiig rug. had to be a big one. i found one i only kinda liked, but it was the only big one i could find that wasn't outrageously priced. i'm about a quarter of the way into it, and i'm thinking about selling it when i have a yard sale this spring ;)

Re: Oxygen Bar and Needlework Shop
I used to do a fair bit of cross stitch - started three, finished two, framed one. I don't actually like the style very much, even though it's fun to do.
I've redirected my creative urges towards clothes. Just finished a full skirt in a purple silk Donna Karan print that cost me NZ$30 and two hours' work. Other works include a grey wool dress with semitransparent bits etched through it and a red lining, and a white broderie anglaise skirt with a pale blue lining.

Re: Oxygen Bar and Needlework Shop
Sorry I've been absent.
As I just explained in the Mint, I've gotten several new accounts, both for the CD business and my body jewelry business.
I'm very proud that Hastings will be carrying my body jewelry. This is big for me and may mark a beginning of real success with my stuff. I'm happy and excited and busy.
Wish me luck!
*hugs smarch*

of course i wish you luck on the jewelry venture, sher, but only because body jewelry doesn't impede on my own market (j/k) ;)

Very popular these days.
Yeah, you know that stuff that ppl are wearing everywhere now. Nose, eyebrow, bellybutton,......... ....................... nipple, clit, penis.. yes.. everywhere. It sells fabulously, most especially the belly button ones.
