Re: DOGBLOG III

You know my sister Amy still has a lego castle built on top of her desk.

And TMNT figurines. Jacob got Donatello for Christmas, and the two of them battled it out on the floor for hours.

That`s quite surprising really Jaime. I`m not trying to butter you up or anything but after observing you in New Orleans I thought that even if you weren`t pretty you`re way too quiet and sensible to be a man. Buffy the Vampire Slayer mebbe, but not a guy ;)

Oh. I guess I made a mistake going off with Susan and Mwyaren when you took off down Bourbon Street with Auros but I figured Susie might need some manly protection (in which  event I can scream louder than she can).

It's also quite possible to be a tomboy and not touch icky slimey creepy crawly things. One must simply be able to beat the snot out of anyone who calls one a "guurrl".

I never had to... Hmmm... I wonder why...

I once hit the boy next door with a tennis racket. I just don't know what it was about anymore. Maybe he did call me a guuurl, but I don't think so.

Thanks for the concern but a slight missunderstanding has occured.  Our baby isn't due to be born until June, it's mum-to-be who is the serial up-chucker.  (Just noticed Miiru has pointed this out below).

Having said that she has now got it down to feeling sick all the time but only actually being sick every other day (although some days it's 3 or 4 times). So there are some signs of improvement; having said that it is just moving from one level of hell to a slightly better one, I don't think this is appreciated by said wife.  We are reliably informed that some women get it far worse, again no real consolation, but that this is no sign of a problem with the baby, big consolation!

I'm hopefully going to get another contract soon and be off working so I'm just counting on Ange feeling much better by then, and thus needing less looking after.

If the truth be known, I just can't wait to join in the fun of parenting conversations, that's all. Sorry for the confusion.

Stuart, has your wife talked to her doctor?
I had the same problem, morning sickness that lasted 24 hours - makes leaving the house a bit of a challenge I know, my doctor gave me suppliments that helped and by week 22 I could live outside the bathroom. For me it was a mineral deficiency, it's an outside chance I know, but it might be of some help  to her.

Re: DOGBLOG III

LEGOS!!! The ultimate child's toy! So versatile, so colorful so FUN!!!
And unisex to boot. I garauntee my kids toy boxes, when I get around to having them, will be chock full of Legos...and books, of course books. TV? Hell no. I spent the first 10 years of my life I spent without TV and I turned out pretty normal.
I shudder to think of parents that use the TV as a Babysitter, worse thing that can be done to a child.

Re: DOGBLOG III

I do hope Lego goes back to their basics though. Nowadays when you buy a box of Lego you hardly have to build anything. It's all prefab. I loved the Lego-blocks. Still do. When I was in Legoland (Denmark) last summer you could buy blocks (in every imaginable colour and shape) per hundred grams. I was severely tempted.

*L* Yes, welcome to Earth, Tad. I'd offer to take you to our leader, but that would be redundant.

@Stuart: I remember you mentioning your wife already trying ginger & it not working particularly well for her. Might I suggest an old wives' remedy? Raspberry leaf tea. It is THE herb for pregnancy, used for many different symptoms. Might just do the trick. :)

Thanks, we went to the doctors last week, for the third time, and all the tests have been fine.  Her blood and wee are normal and she is still gaining weight so it's a grin and bear it thing.

Re: DOGBLOG III

I didn't have Legos. But my brother did and I stole them sometimes, even though I wasn't allowed to play with them. My mom was firmly in the camp that girls and boys play with different toys. So I had one barbie and that was it.

My childhood was spent up trees or in my closet. I had a big closet and when you brought in the LightBright everything was all cool-colored and funky. But I didn't play with toys much. I was a daydreamer. I could sit in one place for an entire day, lost in dreamland. It's a symptom of ADD that is more commonly found in girls. Come to think of it I can still do that. Heh.

I was pretty tomboyish in my interests but at the same time I think I spent most of my time believing that I was some kind of fairy princess. Odd kid.

I have to say, some of the prefab Legos did suck, but when I was little I did like the pirate ships and castles.

Hey....now that I think about it I think Ettelewen lives near the US Lego Factory. Wonder if they can still by Legos's en masse from them? I'll have to ask!

She does actually like apple and rasperry juice, but on the tea front if the bag comes any closer than six inches away from the cup it is deemed too strong, alas.
However over the last two days she has started to feel a little bit better and regained a small appetite, so I'm mucho pleased about that.  Thanks for the concern.
