Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Re: Quillers Mint The Conservetory

I'm still reading, but just wanted to say that I'm quite expecting the electricity to go out any minute... all my candles are lit. So if I disappear, that's why.

Re: Quillers Mint The Conservetory

I wonder if visiting my local post office and threatening them with some sort of homemade fruit and tootpick type weapon would have any effect on the speed at which my M/O reaches Shadowmarch Inc.?

Re: Quillers Mint The Conservetory

Even though it's a minor tale, could you guys make a "Story" topic for it if you'd like to discuss it?  Sorry to be a pain in the butt, but I like to keep these things isolated from the mainstream conversations.

Tharankasay Ee-oooie! (as a guy I used to know was prone to say.  Don't know why -- maybe it was a tumor or something.)

Tree...I kinda doubt it.  The whole fruit 'n toothpick thing?  It just doesn't work.  Rhubarb is the only way.

Re: Quillers Mint The Conservetory

It's okay Shads, we avoid spoiler discussion in these realtime rooms.

I'm reading, still. I know, I'm slow. I read every line two or three times... not because it's unclear, just because I like the rhythm of it.

Kehv, oh! I loved that Simpsons! I first saw it right after the list discussion on LIIT, and laughed 'til it hurt.

Probally not, you dont get any attention wat the poist office unless you threte them with somthing the size of a sherman tank armed with 50 calabar machene guns. I mean the post men themselves threten with automatic weapons, gotta have more then fruit.

You guys do this too?  That's great!  I sympathize, 'cause none of the sportscasters here can stop talking about the great hockey victory back in '72... geez, get over it!  Canada needs to start focusing on the present, man.  Contemporize! :)

Re: Quillers Mint The Conservetory

Now if the '72 Canadian hockey team could meet the '66 English World Cup football team, then the hopes of both countries could be dashed when they played to a nil-nil draw.

At something other than football or hockey, of course, so it would be fair.

Water polo...?  Of course, the players would be pretty old by now, so some of them might drown or something...

Sounds fair.  That'll put us braggarts in our place.  Either that or I'll be 84 and harkening back to the great Intercontinental Bingo match of ought-four.

Y'know, that's the best thing about living through the turn of the century to me.  Being able to say goofy things like, "Back in ought-two, I was fishing fer salmon in chestwaders bigger'n you are tall..."  And I'll be saying these things next year. :)

Hopefully not a contact sport.  The carnage would be absolute... bunch of old hockey and football players trying to bash each other around... hips and dental work failing at every turn... they'd have to bring half the team onto the field on stretchers...
