Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Oh gods, I misread sunny for funny. Maybe I got a lisp in my eyes.

Re: Flick

LOL... I like that.  Maybe I'll use that at work whenever I'm quoting numbers to clients & I get the numbers mixed up.

Time for a break. Those work demons are suspiciously quiet today. *crossed fingers*

Re: Flick

Actually, I should head out, too.  Need some decent sleep & since it's miserable & cold... maybe tonight would the best time to get some!

Re: Flick

Well, I don't know what it's like in Wellington but up here in Palmy it's actually quite warm.  Still rainy though.

Hi Pete (do people call you Pete?)

Aan's here?  Where?

Re: Flick

List is updated. There's some problem with the newest users, but I'll solve that in the afternoon (it's morning over here).

Wow - there are at least twenty New Zealanders on the boards.  Neat.

Re: Flick

Aan's not here. He always is :) . Doesn't keep him from posting and lurking though...

I'm not called Pete usually because this is an English abbreviation and I'm living in a country where German is the native language :) . There is no German short form for Peter that I am aware of.

Re: Flick

Brrrr, cold here.

No german abb for Peter? I know Peters called Pit, Pe, and Pitter.

Re: Flick

Just popping in briefly to say that I've taken Kabul.

Oops, no, that's not it.  What have I done?  Oh, yeah, finished the Shadowmarch episode.  (Well, the first draft.  I'll have to edit it tomorrow.)

My wrists ache and in about five minutes I'll have to pack it in, but I thought I'd say howdy.

How are you lot?

Re: Flick

Djf!  This place is inhabited after all.  Nifty .sig by the way - I have yet to start Ouroboros, but it's (literally) in the shelf.  And I'm gonna call Peter Pitter from now on.  Unless he tells me not to :)

Re: Flick

I'm fine Tad. I'm still at home though, so that'll probably change when I arrive at work :)

Are those wrists still giving you trouble? And are you a speedy evil today, or a dial up evil?

Re: Flick

Hi Tad. Sorry to hear about you wrists. I bet you'd prefer carnal tunnel syndrome.

Re: Flick

Well, at this very second I'm dialup, even though the satellite is working.  I had to send some email, and I still don't have that worked out yet -- I'll probably have to find a way to route everything through some web-based email service.

So as we speak, I'm puttering along at 56K.

Re: Flick

I tell you not to, Paragon! Btw, I've heard any of these abbreviations in Austria. And Peter is Peter in Austria, or I wouldn't have typed it that way... . Of course the pronounciation is different in German.

Re: Flick

Tad!  Looking forwards to the episode - I'd take it over functional wrists any day (yours, not mine, that is :)

I'm being guilty about not doing some writing of my own that's supposed to be being done...

Tad, you might want to have a look at this:

It'll solve all your connection problems :)

Re: Flick

Carnal tunnel?  Some kind of tunnel of meat?

Sounds like a Clive Barker story to me.

Good to see you all, and forgive the brevity.  I've typed about eight hours today in total, and I must put ice on the wrists before I go to bed or I won't be able to edit tomorrow.

So here I go...

Ciao!

Re: Flick

I don't have anything against bad wrists though...

I should really catch up with the Smarch episodes, but some evil author wrote this monster trilogy MS&T and the english version arrived yesterday... (how the hell did they get 2 TGAT books in one harcover book???).
