Through the Looking Glass - All Things Photography

A battered placard swings upon rusty hinges in the gentle breeze. Stamped upon it in ageing ink is a new fangled contraption called a camera.

The windows are broken and rotten tomatoes plaster the wall, testament to the latest protest by the Artists and Painters Guild. Upon entering you find yourself in a dark room filled with strange smells. Frames adorn the dim walls, and a clutter of various equipment litter the benches in an organised mess.

As you make your way further into the darkness you hear a high pitched whine followed by a blinding flash invades your vision and disorients you.

The store owner, Genisis X comes out of the shadows wielding one of the strange devices.

"Fantastic!" He declares. "Great shot!

"Wait. Hold that pose for a second..."

Re: Through the Looking Glass - All Things Photography

Hey, what do you know. We plebs can create threads in the neighbour hood. That s'posed to happen?

Made this place as there does not seem to be a photography place. Lock this one up if there is, by all means.

Anywho, after taking 135 shots today I culled it down to 28 good(ish) ones.

Boot Hill

Wallis Lake

Forster

Have an ogle at those!

Those Kinabalu photo's are awesome!

Also, does picasa put that writing on there, or do you have to do it manually?

No, the copywrite notice :P

After some reading I do believe that has to be done manually as well...

On the pictures themselves? Oh I do that all manually when I edit my pictures. Most of the time my edits consist of a resize and adding the text. Sometimes I have to adjust gamma correction/color balance but most of the time further editing (like in the Kota Kinabalu pics) aren't necessary. I think I did have to crop a couple of the boat shots though, because they weren't framed properly.

Oh, also, for sea-lovers...view the beach/sunset shots as a slideshow. I still do, it puts me in a totally soothing mood. The sea was just so beautiful that sunset.

Re: Through the Looking Glass - All Things Photography

Hmm, maybe next SAGE we can have a photo contest in stead of a cookie contest. (Seeing how there was too much food already.)

Re: Through the Looking Glass - All Things Photography

I have no idea why that was funny, but... you know, water being spat back into the glass makes a very funny sound...

And, Sahi: Too much food? Perhaps. But it was so very yummy...

Do I get a special prize for having the only picture of SAGE? (Although of course it was taken by Ivo - but it was my camera!)
