Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Yours in Dogly haste...

I spent one of the worst nights of my life in Croatia.  Well, not one of the worst, but easily the coldest, and most lonely.  Christmas 1995 in a sleeping bag, in a field, freezing.  My first Christmas away from my family.

I think someone should set up a relief effort for those of us who cannot get Tim Tams.

Someday will find you.

Re: DOGBLOG: Last of the Doghicans

Hello, everybody.  I'm posting from the upstairs of our friends house in France, outside Toulouse.  After an astoundling hot day, a summer storm is flashing lightning outside the window of the farm house.

(They're not farmers, they're artists.  You'll learn a lot more about them soon, when we start the tadwilliams.com site, because they're part of a project of ours.)

I'm going on from here to Poland and then Croatia, but Deb's flying home on Thursday.  I'm looking forward to meeting Eastern European readers and SF fans, but I'm praying the weather gives me a break.  It's been trop bloody chaud, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, just wanted you all to know I haven't forgotten about you, and if I wasn't staying in a house with one internet connection and three young men all using it to download music and play MMOGs and whatnot, I'd have checked in much sooner.  I'm grabbing the chance now only because everyone's downstairs watching a movie.

More soon.  Be well.

Nope, when I was wearing one, it was  green.

Think it was before the U.N. took over.

Re: DOGBLOG: Last of the Doghicans

We got a new kitty! My dad, brother, and a friend, went fishing on a lake in Wisconin. They heard a cat crying two hundred yards out from shore, and when they got to the dock, they found a litter of kitties in a bad under the dock in the water. This was the only one to survive, it was crying, the only part above the water was it's head.

It is so sad, but the cat is so cute. It its tiny as can be, all black except for the tip of its tail, which is white, like a paintbrush. We're going to call it Winter, because they found it in Winter Lake.

It's the cutest thing. Tries sucking my thumb, thinks it's a nipple. If I could get a picture of it on the internet, I would.

French artists, in Toulouse, are you including them in your project because you can can can?

I've been walking across York every day since Monday to see my wife, in hospital (nothing serious fear not), in my full work whistle and could do with a break in the chaudness here too.

Re: DOGBLOG: Last of the Doghicans

I am in the airport in Amsterdam, having left Toulouse, but not before Deb and I combined for a @#$&-up that led to me missing my plane and spending all the hours between 5:30 am and 8pm either in one of two airports or on a short flight from France.  At 8 I will fly to Warsaw.

Tired of airports.  Very tired.  Want lie down.  Want Tim-Tams, or even tomtoms.

Going now.  Grumpy and itchy.  Will write more from Poland.

Re: DOGBLOG: Last of the Doghicans

Want me to come hop by Schiphol with some cookies to help relieve the grumpiness? (Although with flight issues like that I'd say you're completely justified in wallowing in grumpiness.)

You're in Amsterdam right now and you're not even dropping by at SAGE? *knows perfectly well that timetables won't allow for that to happen*

We will all pout the entire weekend!

Re: DOGBLOG: Last of the Doghicans

Amsterdam, what I would give to go there. Can you guess why? Has something to do with the munchies. Ah, just kidding, I'm content enough with the new cat and Metroid.

Re: DOGBLOG: Last of the Doghicans

I'd like to go to the netherlands for the same reason most western tourists want to go to the netherlands.

Because they have really really good chocolate!

Re: DOGBLOG: Last of the Doghicans

In our house it's the diamonds, pure and simple.

Almost forgot, I saw a copy of Shadowfall in our local discount book store, £1.99, bargain. This price seems to fly in the face of the reviews on Amazon.

Re: DOGBLOG: Last of the Doghicans

Hello from Zagreb!  I've done Poland already, but I'm typing on a keyboard I can't use properly in the hotel lobby, so I'll come back later tonight with a proper set-up and try to explain what's going on.  It's beautiful here, though -- a gorgeous day in a very nice city.  I have a booksigning and a speech/event ahead of me, but I'll come down and find the WiFi hotspot later tonight.

Cheers, my dears...

Don't go Tad! In fact you should get as far away from Canada as you can! I hear Australia is pretty far away.
