Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Inara and Kaylee have both been on one or the other Stargates.  I don't know who else has shown up on BSG.

Re: The Grand Illusion

I just received the news via a coworker that there will be a new Terminator tv series.  I knew of it before (apparently Claire's friend Zach on Heroes is going to be John Connor on there) but there will also be two Terminators... one played by Summer Glau. =D

Interesting!  Will have to watch for that one.  I watched Bride and Prejudice last night.  And I loved it.  And I didn't know Sayid was in it.

Re: The Grand Illusion

Last page, someone mentioned the ever so lovely Gina Torres.  She is goign to be on some new Chris Rock show called I Love My Wife or something like that.  Apparently Chris is torn between his wife (Gina) and some other chick.

To which I say:  Oh no you din't!  Nobody treats Gina that way!

She is a badass.

Except in 24.  She was pretty annoying there.

I'd be equally pleased with either. :)

Re: The Grand Illusion

Anybody else watch the R1che$?
Had it on dvr so my roomie and I just watched it and it's....odd.
It makes me twitchy in certain areas as in uncomfortable...I dunno if I like it yet, it certainly has some potential to be a very powerful show and I've alwasy been a fan of minnie driver (Such a great face!) and eddie izzard was amazing...it's true that comedians have the best dramatic timing...if you haven't seen it I reccomend at least watching the pilot to decide for yourself...it's just that hard to explain...

Re: The Grand Illusion

I wanted to watch the Riches, but did not know when it was on.  I will have to keep an eye out for it, because I am sure they will replay it (or at least I hope they will).

AR (Amazing Race) Spoilers, so you are warned!

I was so hoping Mirna and Smirna would go first.  I did not feel as annoyed with Rob and Amber this time.  As I was watching it I keep saying I need to write that down so I can remember to post it.  Of course, I did not.

Just popped in my head, poor Terry and Iian can they ever find the box.  If I remember correctly did they not have trouble finding the box on the bridge on their season?

I'm still waiitng for charlie to die demmit!
And Claire too...charlie is just too damn whiney and Claire I jsut never saw much use for her...

*spoilerish*
...and I asked for an exploding head...and I got it...8)...well sorta kinda...hee
And I predicted who Claires father was back in season two in one of the Tailies flashback...speaking of Tailies, whatever happened to the older inter-racial couple? Their story deemed to boring?

Next week should be a good episode..at least from the spoilers...

Re: The Grand Illusion

The end of Lost was pretty killer last night.  Loved that you thought he was making a break for it, and then, not.

ANTM was not as fun as previous cycle's makeover shows.

Re: The Grand Illusion

I'm beginning to wonder (on Lost) what is real and what is not real? Almost looks like it is presenting two separate realities.

Re: The Grand Illusion

My question now is, once they Do get jack...how will they get back over the fence again? No Handy trees on the INSIDE of the barrier...at least not that close...

My theory is that everyone outside of the barrier are being used as test-subjects byt those inside, who are themselves part of the another study/experament. The original outside test Subjects were those invited there as part of the Dharma Inititaive, but something has happened to them including being absorbed into the main group.

Anyone catch the comment One-Eye made to his captors "You're not on the list...you are flawed, or broken...but you John..."
Anyone else think John killed the guy to keep him quiet about his miracle? Why does he insist on keeping it secret? You'd think he'd want everyone to know the absolute truth that the island DOES have something else going on...maybe this season is finally beginning to pick up...

Yes. And Locke keeps pushing buttons (or not pushing) and blowing stuff up.

I did catch One-Eye's comment, but he went on to say something like "I remember you from before..." and was cut off. Prior to that he was telling them (with a laugh) that Ben wasn't the leader.

I've been playing with the idea that Locke is the leader somehow -- and maybe he doesn't remember it, or maybe he does now... I know it's farfetched, but hey, what isn't on this show? Locke found the first hatch. He described the "monsters" as a security system. He keeps telling everyone who'll listen that the Island wants them, that there is a reason they specifically are on the island, etc. What looks like good guessing on his part may be more than that?

In any case, we'll get more of his story next week.

I must say, she's a hot goth and a 'meh' blonde in my opinion.

Did I mention my wife only wears black?  *g*

Hrmm....It's an interesting theory, but I'm not buying it totally as the Inititative has been there for at least 40 years...started back in the 60's-70's as I recall from the Films. Though with my theory about Ben's group they could have been later interlopers, but even they have been there for at least 16+ years (Age of Alex) and From what I've seen in John's Flashbacks his recent past is more recent than 16 years...
Though it IS a fantasic theory...and certainly worth it to ponder HOW it could work if it is the case....*ponders*

I AM thinking that the damage that Put John in the wheelchair may have in large part been psychological as well as physiological and the trauma of the crash re-jostled damage nerves and thoughts out of the way. I am going to have to re-watch the DvD's to recall when he briefly lost the use of his legs again...it was right before finding the plane wasn't it? Maybe some form of latent stress called it back? Was it an epsiode where they did one of his flashbacks?
*ponders*

Re: The Grand Illusion

Locke temporarily lost the use of his legs again near the end of the first season... I think it was his second flashback episode, when they were looking for the plane.

As for his actions recently... I think he's trying to get the island back to some sort of manageable wilderness.  You never saw him so happy and content as he was at the beginning, when the island was just a bunch of jungle with a whole lot of mystery.
