Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

DOGBLOG: Rise of the Sea-Monkeys

Okay.  New topic.  Beams (kick, kick) non-creaky.  Everything shipshape.

Go nuts.

Yup, she's a good one!

All of my sea monkeys were named George

and so were the hundreds of little squidlets I fed them to.

Re: DOGBLOG: Rise of the Sea-Monkeys

Ok, you know, I've sat through an entire DogBlog full of Seamonkey references without doing this, but if they get a place in the title, really, is there any way I could not plug? "No jury in the world would convict me!" :)
SeaMonkey, the real thing.

(SeaMonkey is the continuation of the venerable Mozilla Suite (Mozilla 1.7 and older), kept alive for and by people who sometimes want both a browser _and_ an email client (and a chat app and/or HTML editor) built on Mozilla technology, and who're okay with spit and polish being traded in for sheer power. Recommended to any- and all geeks and power users who're currently using Firefox, as well as anyone using the old Mozilla Suite or (gods forbid) IE.)

Look at our SeaMonkey logo. Is it not shiny and shrimp like? ^_^

YES! Aan, you are a god. I couldn't find Mozilla for my laptop and dl'd Firefox and Thunderbird separately. It just annoys me, that's all.

Yay Seamonkey!

I have been idly wondering for some time whether sea-monkeys will play a pivotal role in the upcoming Tadly Aquaman series.

Re: DOGBLOG: Rise of the Sea-Monkeys

FRICKIN' toast.

Yeah, I've thought I might bring in a sort of Wicked Tribe-like gang of hyper-evolved Sea Monkeys.  Honestly.

After all, I'm getting to the age where I can steal from myself with impunity, because my younger readers won't have read the early stuff and my more veteran readers will understand that I'm getting senile.

Oops.  I meant, "post-modern".

Re: DOGBLOG: Rise of the Sea-Monkeys

That was v. politic of you, Tad. We're not older readers, we're 'veteran'. :D

Fair trade for getting to call you post-modern. I'll never be able to say it with a straight face.

And ... if I recall ... when I was a kid (long ago, in a galaxy far, far away) ... you couldn't buy sea monkeys in the store. You had to send away from them. And their ads ran where? Yep, in the back of comic books.

So, include away.

Someday will find you.

If sea monkeys are what I think they are, then there were bags of sea monkey eggs in the Mickey Mouse magazine once or twice...

Re: DOGBLOG: Rise of the Sea-Monkeys

Ah, yes, a bag of sea monkey eggs -- lovely with chives and pecorino.

(No they're not.  Don't try that.  DON'T.)

Anybody here on MySpace?  Want to be my friend?  I just started a blob or a node or a noseglob there or whatever you call it.  But Tad have no friends!  So sad.  How you make MySpace friends?

Tad need many gorillas and chimps and monkeys, like Wiked say.  Apes make everything great!

For the past few weeks, I've been getting a bunch of 'be my friend on MySpace' emails, which I deleted as spam.  I sure hope that wasn't you, Tad.

Re: DOGBLOG: Rise of the Sea-Monkeys

I went to Yahoo 360.  It was easier to access since MySpace was blocked through the filter at the library.  Yes...MySpace banned (not my choice).  You wouldn't believe the parents complaining that their kids could get to MySpace!  Ahh, the power of the media to brainwash the general public...I digress.

If I had a MySpace, I wouldn't admit it. Hypothetically speaking, though, if I had one, it would probably be located here. Hypothetically speaking.
