Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: The history of Shadowmarch

I've had a brief perusal of the history and its good!

Of course I wasn't actually there for most of it...

but hey.

And I think Cyan's got it on the head about the founding of the most holy language of all, Jellybeanese.

It was only a few posts back, Ceywren!

Em, the day after yesterday wrote:

Okay, here's my story (and I'm sticking too it).

'twas about a year ago, I staggered into the Mint, a Mint on steriods...

No, not that long ago... iirc, it started 'round last September or October... I tried to peruse the Mint room earlier today but haven't found the event yet.

Oh, Em's story started about a year ago... that's about when she and I found each other in the Mint.

Yea I tried to find 'the event' just then.

And failed.

Re: The history of Shadowmarch

I guess ingesting jellybeans ends up frying your brains. You can't rightly remember when something happened... You start asking yourself things like "Was it a year ago, or just a half a year?" Time starts getting muddled. Events become vague and confused. Then, pretty soon, you can't remember what someone said a few posts earlier. ;)

The Jellybeanese thing was truly amazing because it was entirely spontaneous!  Once we had the first definitive list done and posted in it's own thread, we all just suddenly started speaking it.... it was strange and wonderful!  *remembers very fondly*

You can't rightly blame Jellybeans for that... I think that's a general quality of S'march.

I blame it on the influence of the people in the neighborhood.  *nods*

Oh. The "Fourness". I wasn't there, but it was muchly impresive. Four mints in one night. Gotta be a record, at least in Smarch's later years.

So... what can we say about this?

Re: The history of Shadowmarch

That ya'll went thru 4 mints with 4 Smarchers called the "Fourness". And it happened on 4-4-2004 and took four hours. Sure, that last sentence is made up, but will people really check? Plus, it sounds good. ;)
