Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: New Tad Williams Story Collection

Just an FYI, I am pretty sure that Subterranean will fill ALL direct orders before ANY copies are available for any of the Amazon sites, so if you REALLY want it...order direct.

Might be true but I have no other chance so I hope that amazon gets some I just pre-ordered it

Lunar, I ordered mine directly - if you want I'll get a second one for you.

We'll somehow manage to get it from Kassel to Göttingen don't you think??

Re: New Tad Williams Story Collection

Their site is down again!  I just want to find out how much the p&p is to UK, I know it's a risk but the amazon uk price is more than £2 less and that includes delivery, but then I might not get one, dilema.

Re: New Tad Williams Story Collection

Ylvs, let us know how much postage was (as soon as you find out), will you?

To the UK and the Netherlands will probably be similar. :)

Re: New Tad Williams Story Collection

They don't specifiy shipping costs for the pre-order. Actual shipping costs are added only when the book really shipps.

At least, that was what the system told me when I pre-ordered my copies.

As far as I can tell, they won't charge the credit card until the book comes out.

Re: New Tad Williams Story Collection

Hmm, that seems contrary to what I read. I read on the site somewhere that they would charge right away. (That they would only consider paid pre-orders...)

Re: New Tad Williams Story Collection

Ok, I was wrong.

When I read about their forthcoming editions of George R.R. Martin's books they said they would not charge the credit card until it was sure that there would actually be a copy available for sale.

I wrongly assumed that that would be their general policy.

Re: New Tad Williams Story Collection

No worries. I only found it because I was curious how much it would cost to have tons of books shipped my way. (And was of course disappointed again, since no site ever mentions such stuff, nor do they provide a link to a site of a shipping company that could help. You always have to explicitly ask for it.) *pouts*

My poor bank ... :( ... just pre-ordered rite AND oblivion and I can't really afford either. It'd be an injustice not to at least try get Tad's new collection though I guess.

Re: New Tad Williams Story Collection

Poor YOU! Cause the bank will just shove the problem right back at you. I've not preordered yet, since I'm waiting for Aan to let me know if he wants one too. (Not to mention that I can't really order any de Lint books, since I'm having my birhtday in a week and a half from now, and they're on my list.)

Re: New Tad Williams Story Collection

It would be if my actual birthday was in March... Which it isn't. I was born february the thirteenth. But some of my friends have always have other things they have to do aroun my birthday, so I celebrate it for them a month late. I always split up my birthday. One for my family and one for my friends. :)

*has drifted off topic*

Ehm, Rite, yeah. ;)

Sorry I can't help with the postal fee because I let it be shipped  to my sister in California and she'll bring it when she comes over for christmas.

So Lunar, if it's fine for you to wait that long give me a final ok and I'll order for you as well.

And back to the topic itself: Subterraneanpress is for some reason or other refusing my email. I'll try sending it from another address (but couldn't do that from my mailbrowser, since that sends all mail through the same SMTP host).

Could it be the same thing that's making their site be there, and then not, and then there, etc.etc...?
