*romps in the confetti*

I have the answer to my knitting question so I can work on the socks today. But not at work. I have to un-knit a row because the result didn't look funny until after I'd knit it.

Re: Oxygen Bar and Needlework Shop

One of the socks is done. I've finished the scarf I was knitting for my granddaughter. And in about 1/2 an hour I'll be heading to Corpus Christi to meet up with my best friend for the weekend. I'm taking the camera but who knows if I'll take any pictures.

Re: Oxygen Bar and Needlework Shop

I'm still knitting 'The Sweater That Ate October'.  *grin*
Although it's not strictly true, as I did start up a second sweater also.
On the good news front, the wool I ordered back in September has finally arrived in Toronto. It should get to Montreal Tuesday, so I can collect it Wednesday.
This is good as it's going to end up as something for me! :)

I'm back. I did take pictures. I've only had time to put one up since I've got things I need to do tonight. I had a blast.

Glad you had a lovely time, Sietherin.
I like the picture - and no I'd not know there was a battleship there!
It still looks lovely though.

Actually, I have no idea what kind of ship the Lexington is. I think it might be an aircraft carrier since there are planes parked on its deck. I've put up a couple more pictures of what the view looks like without fog.

Re: Oxygen Bar and Needlework Shop

The hand dyed Merino wool sock yarn I ordered arrived today. Soft and pretty, in shades of purple with a hint of pink. Alex decided he liked the colorway and he wants my first pair of socks to be for him. So I started one. I'm 40 rows into it. That was bad of me since I still haven't finished the second slipper I'm making for him.

Oh, well. You can't have enough WIPs, say I.

;D

Looks like it was a beautiful day in the photos Seitherin.

WIP's are good - it's nice to swap around occasionally.
One of mine is now a war victim though. The superior forces of kitty claws left 5 dismembered parts spread around the lounge - I only hope there's no more pieces lurking under the sofa.....I don't think there's much hope of a peace agreement, Belle had way too much fun :D

Re: Oxygen Bar and Needlework Shop

Oh, that's too bad, AJ. Shredded projects is something I dreaded for the longest time, but most of my fuzzy monsters know to leave my stuff alone. Izzy hasn't quite learned yet that touching my yarn means her death. She came out charging and ready to play while I was knitting last night. She was mighty surprised when I enforced a very harsh "NO!" with a little swat on the rear.

Speaking of Izzy, she's turning into a sweetie - usually twice a day for about 90 seconds total. * g * She's gone from being an obnoxious cat to an independent one. She likes to lean into you when you pet her, but she's still not into to just snuggling like the others do. Oh, well, it's progress.

Every puppy I've ever had has done that too...but only once.

Re: Oxygen Bar and Needlework Shop

There is something about this purple yarn that's making my kitties want to play with it. Last night it was Izzy attacking it and tonight it was Mouse and Heru. Maybe I just have discriminating cats who prefer wool to synthetic blends. Jeez!

Slippers I'm knitting for Alex. I have one done.

Socks I started knitting last night. I have one about 2/3s done. Alex wants these as well 'cause they're soft.

Gee, do you think I spoil my cats and my kid?

;D

Expensive kitties!

I love those purple socks - they're such a cheerful happy colour.
I think they're all lucky to have you - would you like to adopt me?  :D

I don't want to talk anything up, but Belle was pretty good when I sneaked my knitting out yesterday, although I admit when I noticed her tail flicking at about 4 times it's normal speed I put the temptation away.
She's doing fairly well for being only 6 months old.

Re: Oxygen Bar and Needlework Shop

Six months is the perfect age to teach furry monster that yarn isn't a toy. Tonight, Izzy and Heru had to come rub against the yarn, but they didn't play with it.

One of the purple socks is completely done and the other is about 2/3 done. With any luck, I'll get the second done tomorrow night and then Alex can model them for a picture.

The socks are done! Yipee!

And I'll bet you never knew this about me.

Edited to add -
If only I had legs like that! Or not . . . Mostly not.

You could make leg warmers too.  Did you know they are actually back in style?  At least for little girls; mine are all dying for a pair.  I wonder how they'd look crocheted - can't knit.

Re: Oxygen Bar and Needlework Shop

I am playing with idea of Harry Potter scarves for my daughters for Christmas. Looks like knit all the way (hard to tell whether it is knit a row, purl a row), no bloody yarn overs, no bloody cabling, just a few changes of color.

Easy breezy? (Although I am quite sure Cyan could toss a few off in her spare time, and be making pies with the other hand!)

Okay, what exactly are "Harry Potter scarves"?  I've read the books, but don't watch many movies...
