Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Re: Infinity's

No kidding. We get all set for spectacular weather and what happens? Nothing. So boring. *rolls eyes* ;)

I don't think there's *ever* been a tornado here. They just don't happen in the mountains very much. :)

Re: Infinity's

We're cooler this morning - must've rained in the early morning as it was pretty wet out when I went for my walk.

I bought a little bird feeder for the backyard finally - put thistle seed in to attract the finches.  I hope they show up.

I really want a pair of zebra finches but my husband thinks our cat would freak out.  I suppose he might be right, but I really want them - I think because I have to direct my maternal instincts somewhere (no more babies ;( ) and I miss my dog, too...

We used to have a parakeet. Our cat would hide whever we let it loose in the house. Silly cat.

Re: Infinity's

My friend has a parakeet ~ a little too noisy for me ~ its favorite activity is mimicking the phone ~ its pretty good at it, too.  Gets me every time.

Re: Infinity's

The African Grey we babysat for a couple of months would mimic the phone. I swear that bird was laughing up his sleeve (if he had one) to see us all go scrambling for the phone. *heh* Sure do miss that bird. Noisy, but a lot of fun.

Re: Infinity's

Dennis is now a hurricane (they say he has the potential of reaching CAT 4), but looks to be making landfall quite a bit west of here, somewhere along the Florida panhandle.

Any s'marchers in his predicted path?

Re: Infinity's

That depends. If weather conditions don't change, we should be OK.

Re: Infinity's

Here's hoping weather stays the same! Unless, of course, it changes enough to steer Dennis out to the middle of the Atlantic, missing everything inhabited.

Re: Infinity's

I could go for that!

We've just had one of those powerful summer thunderstorms that lasts 10 minutes and wreaks havoc. We needed the rain, but I could have done without the lightning hits just up the street from where we are.

Of course, this means we'll be steamy and muggy because the storm won't have cooled anything off AND we'll get a whole new batch of 'squitos.

Yea, Texas!

Re: Infinity's

Dennis looks like he will continue as predicted, missing the East Coast and Texas. Strengthened to a CAT 4. Any other s'marchers in his path?

Probably catch some bad weather off this storm early next week. Last night, caught some nastiiness off Cindy as the remenants passed by on her way north. It was raining sideways, and blowing so hard I thought we'd end up in Kansas!

You're gonna be here? two canadian smarchers in the same spot? Will the universe accept that?

Are you gonna have three minutes for a visit?

Re: Infinity's

We had another one of those short but violent summer thunderstorms yesterday. I could hear the thunder for a good half hour before the sky even clouded over.

It looks like we may get another little storm today.

Hehe!  Whirlwind minimeet! *g*

Don't forget to take a picture if you can spare a few seconds! ;)
