Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

When I first saw this topic, I was all, "Latest acquisitions DOS? Who buys DOS anymore?"

Latest aquisition: Mickey mouse keyring, which my friend Tracy got me, in honor of my new job. She's so sweet!

Re: Latest acquisitions dos

a chipped windshield.

this goes with the loss of a windhield wiper, and was caused by a tree branch hitting my car.

shortly thereafter, i was blinded by a sandstorm due to dirt blowing off of a construction site, and narrowly missed rear-ending the car in front of me when they slammed on their brakes under the overpass in construction.  something had blown down off the overpass and blocked both lanes of the road.

and once i got turned around and headed the other direction, i almost got stuck in a multi-car pile up when the traffic light went out on a 5-lane highway.

Speaking of funnel clouds, are you in Kansas yet, Sam?

Re: Latest acquisitions dos

Symphony of Enchanted Lands II, by Rhapsody.

I bought it mostly for the cover art (and the little Rhapsody I've heard, I haven't minded).
But then discovered it features Christopher Lee(!) as "The Wizard King".

There's something rather surreal but appealing about the concept of Saruman singing with a Power Metal group...hehe

Re: Latest acquisitions dos

Singing?  I thought he was just the narrator?

Rhapsody is way more cheese than I can put up with... I saw some video from them online a few years ago that involved some terribly dangerous half-naked chick in a forest and laughed until I couldn't breathe.

Re: Latest acquisitions dos

yup, definitely singing.

and I don't generally listen to power metal, so when I do, it tends to be the cheesiest ;)

X-Files Abduction Arc DVD's.  Couldn't afford the full seasons so this is as close as I can get.  Close enough :)  I can't wait for my hubby to go out of town (he's so not a fan) so I can do a Mulder & Scully marathon.

Hands free bluetooth headset for my cell phone.  Now I can continue doing things when on the phone.  Although when I'm in a grocery store and on the phone, people seem to think I'm talking to myself. :)

Salsa con queso.  It is, unfortunately, *sweet*, I think due to red peppers.  Salsa con queso shouldn't be sweet, it should be snappy.  Shoulda stuck with the usual brand...

A Big Box O' Books!

Sara Douglass's Troy Game in Hardcover, Russell Kirkpatrick's Fire of Heaven trilogy in trade paperback, and Kate Jacoby's Elita series in paperback.

11 books in all (I had a bunch of book club vouchers that were about to expire).

Finally my bookshelves are being returned to something resembling their former glory!
