Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

This evening. My son is pretty excited but he's hiding it in a manly sort of way. *g*

Hope the party was fun last night Jen and that your son (and you!) had a great time :)

The heat/humidity here the last few days has been a bit grim - especially Tuesday, but (fingers crossed) it's improving!

Re: Infinity's

Humidity is still high here - 94% and in the low 80's already. Going outside is like waking through a very warm bathtub! Forget about having un-frizzy hair.

Re: Infinity's

We had our last soccer night & the mozzies were sooooo bad they looked like clouds on the field.  Ugh.  I suppose there are advantages to drought.

On a strange note - haven't processed how I'm feeling yet - I got a card in the mail from my stepmom today - my dad found it in her things and mailed it - it was really nice - hand painted & a nice note.  It was good, but weird to get that.

Re: Infinity's

*hugs* Calesta.

When my husbands mum died we had a similar situation. She passed in January the day before my birthday, but she'd bought and filled out cards my husband's birthday in March and my son's in July....it felt strange to get the cards, (another relative or friend of my mum-in-law sent them to my husband and Ben at the appropriate times), but it was really comforting after the initial shock. We hadn't known about them until they turned up in our mail - still don't know exactly who sent them to be honest.

Re: Infinity's

Thanks AJ ~ I'm sure I'll feel really good about it in a few days time.  I was out for a walk & thinking about the fact that I feel badly that I've planned Juli's birthday party for the same day they're having her memorial party at my dad's house (obviously I can't go...)  and I feel vaguely guilty.

*hugs back*

Are your boys enjoying their summer holiday so far or has the heat knocked them out, too?

Re: Infinity's

I'm sure she'd understand Calesta and be happy Juli was having a lovely day. It's what grandparents want, for the children to be happy.

As for my guys,  on Tuesday my eldest had a mild case of heat stroke (plus himidity we were in the 40's and we don't have air conditioning so it's hardly suprising), but he's fine now.
Actually they're at a friends house this afternoon swimming and tomorrow is the start of summer camp, so they're very happy!
so am I mind you, as I've (hopefully) got my hubby home for a week to tackle all those annoying little jobs that accumulate around a house

edited to clarify (hopefully!)

Re: Infinity's

Thanks!  You also :)

Well, we're down for a chance of thunderstorms tomorrow - so the humidity should at least break. Sat and Sun should be cooler, I think. It's a pity we can't average out the colder and wetter weather in the west with the hot stuff over this way! Then we'd all be more comfortable (hopefully!)

Re: Infinity's

Well, my son's party went well enough. A couple of giggling boys and junk food and a horror movie, plus they slept outside in my son's new tent durning a thunderstorm. Much fun.  :)

It's getting hot here. Ugh. A bit humid, too.

Re: Infinity's

Glad he had fun Jen!  Sounds like a perfect party for boys that age...

Hope you guys have a good Canada Day ~ we're off to the in-laws & the Edmonton area after work today.  One plus - the farmer's market in St Albert opens this weekend.  Looking forward to that :)
