@ Jen - There's a lot of excitement here where I live because there's a rumour we're getting a Tim Horton's right in town! At the moment it's a 15 minute drive away - but in walking distance would be pretty awesome! *gets giddy with excitement*

Re: Infinity's
I was out checking out barbeques today. Managed to leave my little rectangle of plastic in my purse though! I thought hubby better have some input as he'll be using it to....one hopes. ;)
Our week of celebrations kick off tonight with the firework display for Jean Baptiste Day tomorrow - and it's raining! It's good if it is delayed to tomorrow because it was last day of school and my two are asleep on their feet - still insisting they want to see the fireworks though!

Re: Infinity's
There was a rumour here of a Tim's going in. The town council even put a note in the paper about the location and a picture of what it was supposed to look like. But now another rumour is going around, saying that it isn't going in after all. *sob* *shakes fist*
*munches a Krispy Kreme donut* (they're yummy, right?)

Re: Infinity's
Fireworks sound like fun! I'm envious - have you been to the big competition in Montreal? I've obviously only heard about it but it sounds really cool.
I thought TH's were like weeds - popping up everywhere? Maybe it will still get built.

Re: Infinity's
I love fireworks. We haven't had them around here yet, mostly because they only want to use them during fire season so they end up getting cancelled.

Re: Infinity's
I find krispy kreme donuts to be kinda weird... They're good, but deffinetly not like the donuts I'm used to. (Timmies and countrystyle and such places) They're... I dunno... kinda less doughy. More melty I think... heh. Hard to explain and it's been a while since I had one. I've never really gotten hooked on them when I had them though. It's been more of a eat one so I can say I've tried them kinda thing. And a local highschool sold them for a fundraiser a couple times so I'd buy one to support them and get the added bonus of sugar. hehe

g'maen all...
TGIF! Its supposed to be our last nice day before the rain starts again. Hopefully all of this rain is going a long way toward resolving our drought situation.

Re: Infinity's
Flupi, have you ever had a Krispy Kreme that was just cooked? I love to go to their store and get them right off the line. They are this melt-in-your-mouthful of sugary-goodness that cannot be touched by anything else.
In my opinion, once they have cooled, they are no better (or worse) than any other donut.
Someday will find you.

Re: Infinity's
Today is the first day of summer holidays around here. My son is gaming and I slept in til ten. Heh.
I'm thinking of getting a PDA. I've been told it could be a big help to me, for remembering things. I just wonder if they're as useful as they seem.

Sounds like a good day Jen!
A PDA might not be a bad idea.... takes the place of the 50,000 post it notes I leave all over my life to remind me of things...

Re: Infinity's
I moved beyond post-its to the realm of numerous tiny rainbow pads. I have little notepads all over the place, colour coded for certain things. But I'm forever losing the darn things.
See, I don't know anyone that actually *has* a PDA, so I can't ask questions. Meh.

Jen -
My boss uses hers compulsively. Synced to her computer, so if the data gets lost on the PDA, you have a back-up.
My take - you have to be pretty compulsive about keeping it up-to-date, but it is a good tool.
Myself, I like the little pieces of paper. Gives me great pleasure to crumple them up and throw them away when the task is complete.

Re: Infinity's
I don't leave notes for myself at home but I do at work. And I agree on the pleasure of crumpling them up. Or scribbling over them if there's multiple ones on the same piece of paper. heh
And I'm pretty sure the very first krispy kreme I had was just made or close to it. Still wasn't too blown away. Like I said, it's not like the donuts I'm used to. To me donuts are sweet but also doughy. Like sweet bready stuff, but Krispy kreme ones aren't doughy. They're still good, just different than the donuts I already love. :)

Thanks Martha. :) I'm still pondering whether it would be a good thing for me or not.

Re: Infinity's
Rainy this morning, but got out in the garden and was weeding the herb garden, pinching back the basil that is threatening to bolt. Too late for the dill, flowered when I was away a work one day!
Now my hands smell like rosemary (the last herb I was weeding around).
The thyme is taking off like a weed. Planted two kinds: wooly and sliver-edged. When the girls were little, they thought growing "time" in the garden was hysterical. Wonder why they don't find it funny anymore? *sigh* I wish they were little again.

Re: Infinity's
Wish y'all would send some of your rain my way, Calesta. It has been in the mid 90's F every day for the past six weeks and bad drought conditions. We're buring up down here. My electric bill will probably resemble the national debt next billing cycle. Wasn't great this time, $199. *sigh*
How are all you fine peeps?
Hope all are well, now I'm off to shower and go play cards with my son, his SO and his SO's mother.
Toodles!

What I wouldn't give for a TH boston creme donut right now...
*sigh*
Another rainy monday & I totally have Elvis (Costello that is) running through my head "tell me why I don't like Monday's". For some reason I'm feeling very blue.
Wonder if it has to do with Juli's last day of school this week. I don't want my kids to grow up!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Infinity's
Funny, when it rains on Mondays, I hear the Carpenters ... "rainy days and mondays always get me down."
School's been out here for a month. Daughter's settled nicely into that "its summer vacation and I don't want to do anything" routine.
But *heh* she's got Les Miserables on her summer reading list for AP English. Better get cracking.
Someday will find you.
