I'm feeling same about the Apprentice so far - in fact I only watched the boardroom scene last week.

Then you missed a *bunch* of "Team Apex" members lying to Trump to get their teammate fired. It was disturbing; reminded me of my old job.

Libbette, is it Trump's decisions this year that is turning you off, or the contestants this year? I checked at TWOP, and it seems a fair number of people have been upset by the two firings so far, so you wouldn't be alone if that was the case. If it's the latter, I'll mention my extreme dislike for the women's team so far: "icky" describes them pretty well. I'll continue watching (for now), but I can't even root for that nasty "team" anymore. I wonder what your thoughts are, and would like to see you elaborate on why you're not enjoying the show.

Yeah, it's both.  I mean, first of all, Donald is supposed to fire the person that was most responsible for the team's failure.  Neither this week nor last week did he fire the right person.

And yeah, the girls on that team are just awful.  Firstly, they all seem stupid and insipid, and as mentioned, they're liars too.  What a bunch of bee-atches.

I am a rabid Nip/Tuck fan.  I usually catch the Tuesday Midnight show.  That is what I liked about FX, they have 5/6 airings of all their shows so if you miss one you can just watch it later.  Honestly, though, I can't watch some of the surgery scenes.

I would watch on Tuesday night except for this little problem with being on the wrong side of the Atlantic but I can live with the slight delay. :)

The surgery scenes don´t bother me at all. I find them interesting. But then I´m somebody who´d hang out at the local slaughterhouse as a teenager and who asked for a handheld mirror at the dentist when I had a wisdom tooth pulled because I wanted to watch (they wouldn´t let me have one, to my big disappointment).

Anyway, I´m very much looking forward to the next ep. I really loved the last one. The "Brando movie" bit at the beginning had me rolling on the floor but the episode as a whole was very sad, I thought. People being very cruel to each other.

I kinda wonder if he gets to review the footage before he makes his decision. I asked around on-line, and no one seems to know. I won't defend either of his decisions, but if he doesn't actually get to see the footage, there's no way he'd know that five of the girls lied to him. If that's the case, he had no choice but to fire Stacie: if five of your co-workers say you're distracting and somehow "terrify" you, he'd have no choice but to let you go, just like any other boss. Sadly, the truth didn't win out in that case.

And yeah, the girls on that team are just awful.  Firstly, they all seem stupid and insipid[...]

Agreed. They don't seem to have an original idea in their heads between the six of them. Look at the ice cream experiment: they spent hours brainstorming, and then ditched their whole plan when they found out the guys' strategy, copying Mosaic's idea to the letter. They even went to sell at the same place! Truly unimaginative.

and as mentioned, they're liars too.  What a bunch of bee-atches.

That really saddened me. Why did they need to resort to that? I felt really sorry for Stacie. She's probably happier now that she's just away from them entirely... I know I would be. I'd also feel really hurt. One thing to be fired, an entirely different thing altogether to be fired because everyone says you're insane. I guess there was no room for original thinkers on that team.

Anyway, thanks for your analysis, Libbette.

It looks like Tuesday night is going to be 'watching women' night. I'm very much enjoying Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars, and Judging Amy premiered tonight and I still like it.

Re: The Grand Illusion

I enjoyed parts of Gilmore Girls, but something still didn't feel quite right... or it felt rushed.  I was very uncomfortable with all of the stress that Lorelai was so clearly exhibiting (so that was spot on acting) and very happy when she and Rory "made-up" but it also was too easy.  Dean's flip was disconcerting - did he wait for Rory's letter to decide all that or did he come to that epiphany on his own?  And why didn't he burn, shred, or trash the letter?

The Ren Faire stuff had me laughing though, gawd! what memories it brought back!  But after being there for 7 weeks, you would think Luke would have already run afoul of the undercover police.

And any time I get to watch Michel (sp?) suffer is lots of fun. He suffers well.

Oh, and the thing with Lane and her bandmate... odd and incomplete...

Not trying to be a complainer here, but I just feel like either they haven't hit their stride yet, or there's a new writing team in Stars Hollow.  I did notice that Daniel Palladino directed... did he write too?

*settles down to await Smallville (where again the cheese/beef-cake will be abounding!) and Lost*

Re: The Grand Illusion

Well, my Tuesday night TV consists of Scrubs, pretty much.  Every night I try to make an effort to watch an episode of either Sopranos or Alias, from the DVDs I have in my possession.  (My neighbor has the first four seasons of Sopranos for my watching convenience - how nice is that?)  So none of my nights are TV-free, although Tuesday and Wednesday are the only nights I watch new stuff, for now.

So, tonight... Lost?  Part 2 of the pilot!  I've seen it, and it's got some excellent "WTF?" moments and some nice revelations about the characters.  Not to mention one hell of a cliffhanger... I can't wait for next week's, when I see the newest stuff.

I've heard good things about Desperate Housewives -- I think I'll be checking it out on Sunday night.

Finally, the Donald fired someone who deserved it.  And the girls on Survivor are bugging me almost as much as the girls on the Apprentice...

Those bastards behind Desperate Housewives are just capitalizing on my weakness for Teri Hatcher.

Anyone here watch Sopranos?  I'm starting the second season and loving it a bunch.

Just finished watching The Apprentice: Saturday Edition. It presumably contains extra scenes not shown on the Thursday version, which I missed due to the change of schedule this week.

Yep. And even though I was spoiled, it was still somehow immensely satisfying. Here's hoping five more like that one follow. Never seen so much bickering in all my life.

Jack & bobby is my new favorite Drama. Like it better than everwood. my advice is to keep watching. :)

Well, I suck and am never on now that i don't have a job. shouldn't that be the reverse? anywho, Until i do get work i'm going to be very sparse. all my time and energy is going to that. well, that and watching tv and fixing up the house and organizing our living quarters and writing my script and fixing our computers and creating a budget and cooking meals and--

you get the idea. play nice while i am gone and think of me every once in a while. i'll be thinking of you guys.

*hugs* fangler.

I hope you get something soon - it's not the same without you around here.....good luck.

On the TV front, I'm still watching  Stargate Atlantis although I can't really get involved with this one - keep sort of hoping cast members are going to meet a gruesome end....

It's pretty sad but it's about the only thing I'm watching on TV atm.
Although my friend said I should give Desperate Housewives a try, she thought it was pretty good. Anyone else see it?

Re: The Grand Illusion

I meant to watch it but the drive home from camping took longer than anticipated.  I heard from others that it was good, so I hope to catch it next week.

Did folks like the last episode of Lost?  I will be watching it tonight.  Last wed I watched Smallville (continues to jump some sort of wierd shark...) and Kevin Hill.  Kevin Hill was okay, but generally formulaic and stereotypical.  oh well.

adds:  oh, and I miss your smiling presence Fangler!  Come back!  or come fix my house and cook meals...  we do miss you here at the Illusion.
