Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Re: the Monday Morning Kuaterback Klub,

Wow, this topic really gets you ranting, not a single glaring spelling error! ;)

It's all perfectly meaningless to me. Except for the popcorn. ;)

Re: the Monday Morning Kuaterback Klub,

i feel like i'm in bizarro world... the broncos have lost two straight for the first time in three years, while the bills have WON two straight for the first time in about as long!

at least we're switching to the rookie qb.

Re: the Monday Morning Kuaterback Klub,

you think you're in bizarro world?! today the steelers played one of their worst ever games SINCE 1970! good gravy it was a horrible game! well, for us. for the ravens, well...baltimore has deepened its lock on our division lead. *makes face*

stepdad told me that one of the commentators had mentioned that only roethlisburger's vision stats are not posted, out of all of the team members. i'm wondering if the combination of a massive head injury earlier in the year followed by a concussion 6 months later has damaged his vision. once stepdad said that, i started paying attention to when roethlisburger would throw for a long pass: he almost always was just a hair off target. also, he was sacked NINE freaking times today, a record for baltimore; time and again, you could see on the replay that he wasn't looking around him or he somehow wasn't using his peripheral vision to see the ravens defense coming after him. he just didn't seem comfortable out there today, and the rest of the team just followed along.

yeah, i'm enjoying watching football with stepdad, can you tell? *grin* he said i've picked up the concept of the game pretty quickly, and it made me feel good when he said that.

so anyway, i did see that the bills won today and i thought of you wiked. *grin* as for you, joshua...there was discussion of the bronco's new uniforms in the house on thanksgiving, with me voting for kinda ugly. sorry dude! but they're far better than the bengals' uniforms. talk about eyebleeding! at least your broncos are doing better than my steelers; we suck really hard this year. but hey, can you blame big ben for not playing at his best after a major head injury, an emergency appendectomy, and a concussion within six months? i don't think so. i'm cutting him slack for the rest of the season and hoping we come back strong next year.

Re: the Monday Morning Kuaterback Klub,

sorry for the delay there sport's fans!  i was crazy busy getting ready for a hawaiian vacation (actually, to see Pearl Jam open for U2 at Aloha Stadium on my birthday... the sun and the surfing are just fringe benefits).  i was trying to get all my schoolwork done early so that i could skip the final week of classes.  it helps that my graduate studies advisor (who teaches two of my classes) is here too... he's a huge fan of both bands too.  keep that in mind children when applying to masters' programs.  it's not what you know... it's not even who you know... it's really about who you listen to!

but back to the sports... wiked, alas the cutler era was ushered in with a whimper.  and dd, that makes complete sense, i don't think there's anyway you suffer a physical trauma of that intensity and recover completely... ever.  you might get close to your previous ability, but somepart of you will never be the same.  his eyesight explains quite a bit, and the steeler's hush policy on the topic does speak volumes.  i missed that game though, so i didn't hear them talking about that.  makes complete sense though.

okay, gotta go.  the surf calls my name.

oh, and dd... i'll make sure to take pictures of eddie for you!  *eg*

Re: the Monday Morning Kuaterback Klub,

looks around at falling snow

Thanks for reminding me i live in the land of snow,..

Of course, i will be warmed by the thought that you will be returning somewhere colder,

And for the record, Cultlers first start was not terrible, just not great, they still almost pulled it out,

but alas, if you cannot beat a representative of the mighty NFC west, you might have some serious problems.

Re: the Monday Morning Kuaterback Klub,

i know wiked, i know.

cutler was very good, i think.  if our defense would just remember that their supposed to be one of hte best in the league.

other than that... pearl jam and u2 on stage together doing neil young's keep on rockin in the free world for 10 plus minutes, with bono and eddie just making up new verses at the end (particualrly touching was eddie's "i love the edge" verse).

it sort of puts football into persepctive for me!  ;D

oh, and on that note... congratulations.  your bills have almost as good a record as us!  :P

Re: the Monday Morning Kuaterback Klub,

you know, it really wasn't lt who scorched us... yes he had three td's, but they were all from close range.  it was rivers and the passing game that got them into position for him to set the record.  i think we held him in check okay, it wasn't really him that beat us.

Re: the Monday Morning Kuaterback Klub,

Meanwhile Miami is heading to buffalo, and the snow clouds are gathering.

Re: the Monday Morning Kuaterback Klub,

gee J Too bad there about denven cracking like a stale cookie in overtime and getting beat by the 49ers and missing out on the playoffs, You might almost think that this is yet another in a sucession of choke jobs over the last few years that have destroyed their superbowl chances,

Oh wait.

Re: the Monday Morning Kuaterback Klub,

well wiked, don't let it go to your head... but i suppose i'll root for the sabres now that my avs have ended their consecutive playoff appearances streak.

btw, you DO know that both briere and drury are free agents this summer, right?  maybe the avs will realize the mistake they made letting him go and resing him (we'll have about three times as much cap room this year as the last two years combined).

Re: the Monday Morning Kuaterback Klub,

yes, both drury and briere are free agents, and things being what they are, they both will not stray, I see the sabers making a push for drury and letting briere go. It would be a loss sure, but with the development of Vanak, Pommenville, Roy, and stafford, not to mention tim connely and Max Afiniginov kicking around, why would they hold on to him.

and let me just say this now, I expect the sabers to beat the islandser, however it aint  a sure thing. I remember what ted nolan can do, and it is a crying shame that such a good coach was shut out for so long.

All things being equal i am pulling for a sabers/red wings final, just so i can see Dom Hassak come back to buffalo and get smacked.

Not that i am bitter or anything

don't forget... for nolan it's a grudge match series for the way you guys treated him.  that evens things up a bit...
