Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Re: DOGBLOG III

Just had Connor's birthday party today.  It all went well -- we did a laser tag thingamajig.  Daddy massacred a bunch of small kids, but they all had it coming.

(At one point, when I was helping Devon who was sitting on the floor crying with her laser belt fallen off, they all surrounded me and shot me repeatedly.  The little boogers.)

Devon got up and shot several of them too, I'm glad to say.

God, it's good to be American...!

Anyway, more later.  Hope you all are having a good weekend.

Sounds like fun.

Today I toured Kartchner Caverns with a bunch of noisy boy scouts on the same tour. Must go back - I like quiet caves.

Re: DOGBLOG III

They're not belated, Sahi, and thanks -- his actual birthday's tomorrow.  We had the party on Sunday because next weekend is the Super Bowl and we figured we'd get a better party turnout this weekend.

He's a good kid, but he has a slight problem with Game Cube addiction.  He says he can quit any time he wants, but I don't know...

Re: DOGBLOG III

I doubt it, Tad. I'm rather attached to my recently-acquired Cube... if anyone tried to take it away, I don't know if I'd be able to stand it.  I'd have to have a fix at least once an hour.  Er, day.

Re: DOGBLOG III

Hey, I'm cursed with a super bowl birthday too.  Except this year it's the day after.  And I don't usually watch the game anyway, unless I am bribed with free food and people to talk to between advertisements.

Re: DOGBLOG III

I just got Gauntlet and ws playing today, what on earth is the book on the flying somethings I need to kill the Lich (guessing some of this).  I breezed through first four levels of the first place to just die horribly every time against the last boss.  Do I need to do so much of the other places levels to move on??

I could stop if I wanted too, if I really wanted to.

It is a good multiplayer game.

I used to play Gauntlet from one of those big floppies that were actually floppy on an old DOS machine. :)

Stuart, listen to what the clues say. Just beofre you finish the second to last area and hit the exit there is a piece of paper that will say something like: "You would be a fool o go up against <bossname> without the <legend item>. Actually going to move this to the Game Lab...

Re: DOGBLOG III

I am actually physically prevented from developing a console game addiction because of my tendinitis.  I only have a limited amount of tendon-time to use up, so I'd rather use it up writing.  I will occasionally play a single game of something with Connor, just so he won't be completely devoid of playing-Smash-Bros.-Melee-with-Dad memories, but that's honestly all I can deal with.

I was lucky with booze that way, too.  Several of my friends eventually wound up in AA, but I had a bad stomach so very early in my adulthood I cut way back on what had been some heavy party-drinking.

I wish I'd had Spastic Lip Syndrome or something, too -- maybe then I wouldn't have smoked cigarettes so long.

Re: DOGBLOG III

For those of you know me you can proably guess what toys I obcessed with as a child... lets just say I remember my years as to which dog, either real, stuffed and imaginary that was my current obcession.... (ok so nothing has changed... )

As for being a tomboy.. hmmm since I could shoot better, and run faster than any of the niehgborhood kids just assumed girls were better than boys... besides after breaking mike's arm for daring to call me lady...can't exactly say I was ever harassed with the term feminine.

Oh well.

Am busy planning Elli's first birthday, I know its more than a month away but the out of state relatives want to be involved too.. and the current parasite in residence has declared that its host (Me) can no longer eat meat, squash or bread...... Have I yet mentioned that pregnancy is future payment for ANY sin I might even contemplate doing and all the sins I have ever commited?  Your wife Stuart has my deepest condolences... only 12 weeks left to go....
Am glad your kids survived the massare tad.. sounds like you guys had a good time

ever notice how you never need to go looking for trouble, it always finds you?  So next puppy I get I am just going to call trouble... Actually will be calling her Heidi!

Re: DOGBLOG III

@Tad, Nothing worse than nintendonitis for curing console addiction, we must suffer for our art.

Thanks Darkangel, Ange hasn't been sick for 2 whole days, but she says she could any time she wanted.  I've been taking her to work this week as we've had some snow here and being a heathen northener I'm more used to driving in it.  I'm actually going back to work on the 9th of Feb so the 3 months of nursing will come to an end (7 days a week anyway), so you'll understand how pleased I am she's starting to feel a bit better.
It hardly feels like I've been off anytime and that was more than 12 weeks, I hope yours flies so quick.

Re: DOGBLOG III

Heh.  I've actually had the same problem - I have to ration my hand use (even with braces), and as such games tend to fall by the wayside.  As it is, I can't give up my current computer usage or piano playing, so the fingers and wrists hurt all the time.  *donates to the Tad-voice-recognition-software fund*  *cracks whip*  Write faster! ;)
