Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Re: The Church of Erotic Pantheism: Back in the Business of Pleasure

*snuggles the mimosa girl*
*purrrrrrrrs*

I am utterly and completely enamored of my kitty cats.  My gf's parents think we're a bit crazy for how serious we are about taking care of them.  We tell visitors how to behave around them, including things like "don't stare, because if you were a cat and saw a large, potentially predatory animal staring at you, it'd freak you out too".  We got them shortly before Christmas, and refused to leave them alone for a day or two to drive four hours north to join their Christmas dinner.  (Conceding that leaving them alone after only having them a week might not be a good idea, her mother then suggested we bring them with us.  Right, cuz cats just love getting a change of scenery, and meeting numerous new people, all at the same time...  Sigh.)

But at this point I think all the parents are trained.  They just refer to Tsuki and Hoshi as their grandkittens.  Which is pretty much right. :-)

<--- Is proud of his catbabies.

How does one become a minion in this place?

Bribery and corruption usually work wonders for me, but what do you give a dragon who has everything and her sensual master? I mean she already has a bedmaiden and washing her smalls seems a tad drastic...

Re: The Church of Erotic Pantheism: Back in the Business of Pleasure

Well, becoming an official minion (or minister, or whatever) requires acquiring a creative title, and demonstrating an ability to live up to it.

For a member to become a generic minion, they need merely indicate an interest in... submission... to the Powers That Be. :-)

Being a member of the church merely requires an open mind and a good -- though not at all "pure" -- heart.

With my experience of living under a repressive regime I believe I would make an excellent Chief Whip since I have extensive expertise at at applying the rough end of my tongue to  rebellious members and feeding them a load of balls and just to demonstrate my total impartiality I`m willing to serve under Bush whenever demanded.

Re: The Church of Erotic Pantheism: Back in the Business of Pleasure

Hmmm...  I'm trying to come up with a good wordplay off of "majority" or "minority", to go along with "whip".  "Maturity" is the only thing that's come to mind so far, and it's doesn't work very well...

Bleh.  I have hiccups.  I'm not sure why the physical condition of my body has so much influence on my mind (though it might explain why I'm the High Priest here!).  When I have hiccups, I can't keep a train of thought going for more than a few seconds at a time, because the hiccups interrupt me.

Ugh.  I need to go try to do something about these. :-(

Ooooo.  I like that. *pouncesnuggles the dragonlady*

And after all, despite the traditional connotations, it is somewhat ambiguous as to which end of the whip he might be on.

Acknowledges the Reverend Father, who has been missed, and hands over the muesli bars and chocolate left over from the dance school prvisions. Then, with a great sigh of relief, slipps into the hot tub. No frolicking at the moment. Just feeling the warmth in tired muscles, aaaaah.

That's better.

Can I be a weekend member?  It looks like a fun kind of place, but I suspect that this might be the final straw for the powers that be if I workSmarch here.

Open mind - check
Good but not pure heart - check

I've recently found myself a giver of Incredibly Good Backrubs, which is in keeping with the spirit of this place.

Re: The Church of Erotic Pantheism: Back in the Business of Pleasure

@dd:  Are you getting a kitty soon?  Before Beth met Tsuki and Hoshi at the shelter and introduced me to them (she already wanted them, and I fell in love with them once I met them and had the little furballs toddle around on my lap), we had been thinking about looking for a purebred Siamese actually.  Or possibly an Abbysinian or a Mau -- any eastern breed, really, as they tend to be smarter and more social than average.  (Though these two certainly are sweeties too.)

I saw a Sphinx yesterday -- one of the hairless breeds.  Ripley (named for her ripple-y skin, and for Sigourney Weaver's character in Alien, because she looks like an alien cat *g*).  She lives in Borderlands Bookstore (a used SF/F place) at 20th and Valencia in SF. :-)

Beth is doing OK.  Working on a teaching credential (to teach English and Drama at the high-school level), and kind of half-heartedly looking for a part-time job.

@JH:  Chocolate and muesli?  Mmmmm...

@Binky:  Eh, I've just been Smarching in my own Neighborhood topic, and in a few random Community topics.  Whatever looks interesting from the Active page...  Keeps the total time commitment down.

Oh, and, um, you can make yourself a membership card if you like.  We all have them, but no two look the same, so it's hard to use them as actual identification...
