Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: Sayin' hi!

Mars.  May as well go from one extreme to the other.

You *nods at a Wockie* are in charge till I return.  Try to behave.  And call the castles back when they're done.

Shall we?

Re: Sayin' hi!

Yes, lets. I would love to have tea on Mars. Hopefully they will have some nice scones or something. I'm really hungry. Anubis has eaten far too many of my useful people, so I don't have any mortals to eat.

Re: Sayin' hi!

*eyes with distaste*

You eat mortals?

*blurs into the typical arid, red Mars landscape, broken only by a nice little cottage with devonshire tea advertised on a chalkboard out front*

I hope you cook them well.  No amount of sauce gets rid of that awful aftertaste...

Re: Sayin' hi!

Yes, well, mortals are an acquired taste. Not all gods can get used to them. Only the very refined ones.

Ooo! Look, tea!

*sighs*

I'll take a cup. Lotsa sugar, none of that cream stuff.

Quite the lovely landscape, yes? I rather enjoy Mars this time of year. Reminds me of that time, back home, when...

...It's a small universe.

*offers HushMatt a scone*

Cream?  Jam?  Leave some sugar for him, Ozzy-Ris...you really shouldn't have so much...your teeth 'll go all pochy.

Lovely view.  Pity about all the derelict walkers.

HushMatt...eh...stuff.  Y' know?

Re: Sayin' hi!

If she offers meatloaf sandwiches don't accept...they're prolly Trojans.

Speaking of tea...*stares at empty mug*  Demmit...god-like powers apparently don't extend to everlasting tea.
My mug doth not runneth over.

Re: Sayin' hi!

Yes! More tea here, too! I am nearly falling asleep. Hopefully this cup will have caffiene in it.

Be careful where you sit hush. Shadow's Wockies might get you. I know she has a few around here somewhere...

Do you think anyone reads our rather bizarre posts? I wonder waht they think.

Re: Sayin' hi!

I think they think that if they don't let us know that they read, then they'll get left alone.

Mwaha.

*bleary*

Too much caffeine and no food.  Not a good way to spend a day.

Who knows?  Maybe my Wockies scared them off...little darh-lings...

Re: Sayin' hi!

gods eh?
well, I hope you don't mind if a lowly mortal such as myself indulges in a bit of tea with you..
and no thank you on the scones..they suck the spit right out of my mouth.
but if there is any melba toast that might be nice...is there melba toast on mars?
I don't imagine it would be too hard for deities such as yourselves to whip some up eh?

any good threads I should look at?

Re: Sayin' hi!

Hehe! No one is truly safe from us! Just wait til we become deacons or such. We can be mean and ruthless with our power.

I'm off to sleep now. Soon it will be summer holidays and then I will be able to stay up later. But I'm an old god, I need my rest. G'night all! Happy day!

Re: Sayin' hi!

I think most of us lowly mortals do read your posts, guys, but they don't reply because it would seem rude to interupt - you being gods and all...

*genuflects and apologises profusely for interupting*

Re: Sayin' hi!

Silly.  Talk to us.  If we like you, we'll make you one of our own.  I'll even turn you into a Wockie for being first.  One of The Chosen Ones, Hand Picked by The Shadow Queen herself and all that claptrap...

Yes, I have been sitting here all day, and I'm feeling kinda dazed.

Re: Sayin' hi!

Well, us lowly mortals could as well make our own thread and talk about not so godly things. But it is fun to read what the gods of the world have to say.

*grin* unfortunately I'm not online all day, and hence would find it difficult to participate in the imaginative discussions of gods ;)
