Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

Yes, but that's a very important number, now isn't it?
*wonders if she'll ever get a post count that high*

Re: QM - Sledgehammer Room

Hi all!  I'm really tired.  I went to see my niece and nephew play t-ball today, then looked at houses with my sister, then went to a birthday party for a one year old...and I just got home to find that the dogs had eaten an entire coffee cake and half a box of cereal.

*needs beer*

Re: QM - Sledgehammer Room

Ah...much better.  Thanks, DD!

We looked at some of those luxury homes by the fake lake (out by the airport).

Wow.  Bigbigbig houses.  Yikes!

I said, "That's a lot of vacuuming."

My sister said, "When there's this much to vacuum, you hire somebody else to do it."

Hmm.  Methinks my sister is gettin' a bit big for her britches!

Re: QM - Sledgehammer Room

Hi Susan!

Yeah, and it was a little weird at the end.  One of my best friends has a new best friend - and honestly, the new friend has a lot more in common with my friend (they're both moms, both been married for a while, both girly-girls).  The problem is that my friend doesn't know how to be comfortable with both of us at the same time.  I'm not jealous, but I don't think she knows that and it makes me feel bad.

And I'm too tired to think about it right now, so I'll deal with it later.

Re: QM - Sledgehammer Room

Yea, that kind of stuff can be difficult.  Politics between friends is a sticky thing sometimes.  Maybe you should just talk to her about it.  I've always found that to be the best thing to do.

Well, I had a sandwich at lunch, then a chocolate malt later, then pizza at the b-day party.  I'm ready to explode!

I need to go on a posting bender.  Maybe I should just pull an all-niter and bump myself back up into the 20's on Peter's list...

Re: QM - Sledgehammer Room

Not much.  hubby and the kids spent the day at the boat, getting it ready to go in the water.  so, i was home alone most of the afternoon.  was supposed to be doing housework, but, well, you know ....
i finished the book i was reading.

Re: QM - Sledgehammer Room

i hear ya!  it's just that i get so precious little quiet time around here, i felt it necessary to make sure i used it wisely.  i can clean the toilets in a noisey house.

Re: QM - Sledgehammer Room

someone once said that cleaning a house where children live is like stringing beads onto a string with no knot on the end.  i think it was erma bombeck.  no truer words were ever uttered.

Re: QM - Sledgehammer Room

LOL - my sister would agree with you completely.  She was buckling the kids in today and started cleaning the back seat.  I asked her if that couldn't wait and she said, "You're kidding, right?  This is a full-time occupation!"

Re: QM - Sledgehammer Room

oh, yeah.  don't even get me started on keeping the van clean.  it just doens't happen.  ask anyone from the smarchmoot who rode it it.  they'll tell you that it is permenantly stained as a kid-mobile.
