Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Voted as well.
Have you checked out the other books? Each has ratings in the thousands, TWC has 691.
My hopes are not high for this.

Yeah, mine neither. But it’s great that the book gets nominated at all. Hopefully some more will pick it up this way.

Re: The Witchwood Crown: Nominated for a Goodreads Choice Award

If WITCHWOOD CROWN makes it to the next round (i.e. the final ten) it will be a success. The response on Twitter has been very positive, but I am sure #1 and #2 will be Gaiman and Rowling….

I say the same myself, but this is great press nonetheless. Still, if everybody can tweet, share, like, blog, re-blog, and send smoke signals, that will be helpful.

The voting is only open for the next four and a half days.

Re: The Witchwood Crown: Nominated for a Goodreads Choice Award

As has been said, Gaiman/Rowling will no doubt take #1, but this has been a huge boost to the book's profile on GoodReads: if you click "Stats" on its page, the To-Read numbers for today and yesterday are greater than any other in the book's history, with over 600 yesterday and over 300 for today so far (it only goes back so many months and rolls forward with time, but even June's launch day is only 200 and the daily was down to 20 or so as of the last few weeks).

In terms of spreading word for a book you like, this will do that even if it doesn't win.

Re: The Witchwood Crown: Nominated for a Goodreads Choice Award

I btw doubt Gaiman or Rowling will make it. It's both their weakest works ever imho. I think Robin Hobb is the strongest contender for winning ...
