Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Quietly slides tattered, coffee-stained, rumpled thousand-year-old petition for signing event in Georgia to those who would ask...

Is there any way you can request it through one of your local bookstores, Maladroit? A Cappella Books in Atlanta has a place where you can make requests; I bet other bookstores in Georgia do, too.

Looks like the authors can, at the Athens bookstore I favor. Will research further. Thanks!

The Mill Creek event is on the store´s website.

There is a good chance that this event will be taped, too, as they tape a lot of their events….

And the other one is here on the Borderlands site:

Popping in quickly.

Hey!

What's up.

Went to the book signing in Seattle.  It was fun!

I had him sign my "Otherland" books as "Rook" being as it is about the Internet.

Anyway, showing was slightly on the light side as it was Fourth of July weekend.

Hi Rook!  Glad you caught Tad in Seattle tonight.

I think most of the Bay Area Smarch contingent will be at Tad's event at Borderlands Books (SF) tomorrow afternoon (including me).  And you've given me an idea, I should bring my very heavy set of Otherland hardcovers for Tad to sign.

Hey, I distinctly remember you telling me the etiquette was no more than three books at a book signing. Otherland is four volumes.

If you take pics, we can post them and help promote the series.

Re: US signing events

I guess I should mention that the event wasn't in Mill Creek.

I went to the Mill Creek bookstore, and the cashier didn't know about the event.  So we looked online and it was the store in Seattle next to the University of Washington.

Fortunately I was an hour early, and even with rush hour going on it was less than half an hour drive.

I don't know if any other people might have gone to the wrong place.  There was someone there from Portland, Oregon, though!  (A four hour drive!)

Uh oh! Some crossed wires somewhere. This website says Mill Creek. Hopefully, everyone was able, like you, to get over to the right store. Glad you made it!

Did you get copies of TWC? Are you reading it now?
