Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

QM - The Heart Of What Is Silly

You come in from the freezing Frostmach Road into a cozy inn, that makes you forget the storm raging outside and the army you just saw pursuing scattered Norn forces. You're not asking yourself what you're doing here in the forbidding and forlorn freezing North as you're greeted by all your smarchly friends that weirdly ended up here as well. The bartender hands you a cup of steaming mulled wine and as you toast to Reg you immeadiatly feel at home and comfy in The Heart Of What Is Silly ...

Re: QM - The Heart Of What Is Silly

My book arrived at my parents place today, 2 days later than planned. Now I need to plot some way to meet them and snap up the book.

Re: QM - The Heart Of What Is Silly

Ow. My body hurts less today, but instead I have a terrible headache.

Thank god for leftovers for dinner and no plans to do anything today... (I mean, I was going to go shopping, but it wasn't urgent.)

I went outside today!!! Be it only to the Morrison's with L.... But I just couldn't bear being inside all day, so we had a cup of tea and chatted and then picked up the girls from school.... Planning sushi for tonight!!!

Seriously, neighbours? You have to drill holes in the wall now? Now, when I have a headache?

Unf. 3 more hours of w*rk left. But! I have a candy bar. A coworker has a kid in Boy Scouts and they are apparently fund-raising for something. I also bought a box of girl scout cookies from a different coworker, but obviously those won't be in for a bit... *sigh*

Just close the curtains loudly to irritate them back. Serves them right! ;)

That's the neighbours on the other side.

I should probably have gone to bed hours ago, but now my headache is better and I'm not tired any more. Hmm, what shall I do?

Also, it turns out that I was so sleepy this morning that I never even opened the bedroom curtain.

YouTube videos of cute kittens and/or plants?

Re: QM - The Heart Of What Is Silly

I'm trying to cut down on my procrastinating and actually do some things!

Turns out that now my eyes are getting tired, though. (Did Peter give them ideas?) So I probably should get off the computer... but I probably won't.

Re: QM - The Heart Of What Is Silly

I spent the evening with David Bowie, watching the documentary The Last 5 Years. It wasn't a great documentary I think, but decent enough.

Now I am going to finish my book and then go to bed.
Happy weekend to all.

Re: QM - The Heart Of What Is Silly

I'm just getting you back for your assertion, when we were in DC, that all plants have a nervous system. Do you remember? We were talking about the Sentitive Plant, and I marveled that it had feelings. Then you informed me that probably all plants can feel. Now I always feel guilty when I eat a salad, imagining the vegetables silently scream as they are chewed up. ;)
