Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

I'm definitely going to be somewhere (and probably Herr Journeyman as well) but haven't made up my mind about when/where. I do kind of want to go to Kassel again, but if Libra might come to Stuttgart, that would be tempting as well...

Hell, if I can get the time off, I would not even be opposed to going to Germany twice, and attending two moots... Not like I can't afford it. (I know, just staying in Germany would make more sense, but I can't take that much time off that close to All Saints' Day.)

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

If my health allows it, I want to make at least one of the moots. For me the goal is to meet as many Smarchers, new and old, as I can. We haven't had a really big EU moot since the last one in Stuttgart and that was absolutely excellent.

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

I am up for Stuttgart (two events in two days) and Kassel (as it is closest to me). Maybe more. I am off work for the last three weeks in October.

I think this is a totally legit trade-off.  My sister tried to get us tix on a pre-sale thing online.  She logged on first thing in the morning and was already number 20,000-something in line.  :-(

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

So Stuttgart is interesting because there are 2 days, which means Tad might have a lot more time.

Kassel is interesting because it is both central and because it is Ylvstown. Somewhat harder to reach by air, I guess you'd fly to Dortmund, Hanover or Frankfurt and take a train from there?

Hanover is interesting because it is closest for Kia and Merenwen.

I will definitely join since I want to meet you guys in person. I just can't decide which one I should attend - Kassel or Stuttgard. Maybe both? Kassel is not that far away after all...*ponders ponders*

Kassel and Stuttgart seem to be frontrunners for moots.

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

Does anyone have additional info about the Kassel event? The website of the bookshop doesn't show any details. I know it's more than half a year from now, but you know....quite looking forward to it :)

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

As I am kinda organising it: what do you want to know? It certainly will not start before 7:30pm as the store closes at 7, admission will be 12€, I am happily buying tix for all attending Smarchers of course. Anything else?

Thanks for the info! One question left, can I bring some books and have them signed (provided there's time before or after the event)? I understand Tad has quite a busy schedule :) thanks again

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

I would be surprised if a signing weren't already included - but even if it wasn't, I'm sure Tad would make time for Smarchers.

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

Well, I have not discussed it with Dog yet but I expect a signing after the reading and a drinking after the signing. Hopefully Deb will be there so the partying might start while the signing is ongoing. We can go to the pub and wait for Tad there. It's a seven minutes walk from the venue. And I live 12 min away. Everything [i]really[i] close. And I will also have the key to the pub, so no last orders until we want them.

We'll be having so much fuuuuuunnnnnnn!

Keep reminding me at Castlefest and in Helsinki not to spend too much money, so I will have some left over to go to Germany...

That sounds really good! Since it's a more than 4 hour drive to Kassel for me, I already booked a room in a nearby B&B (1km from the store) so no limit on drinking beers :)
It'd be really nice to meet you guys there & I'm really looking forward to it.

Hi, since I'm going to Kassel by car and you live only 20 mins from me, don't hesitate to let me know if you'd like to carpool

And you all could have a free place for your sleeping bags and -pads if you don't mind sharing with other Smarchers. My parents have an empty attic appartment in the house they live in. Attic is on the fifth floor though, no lift.

*unlurks*
Kassel would probably be doable for us as well, if we combine it with a family visit (training directly from here to Kassel would be a nightmare, though...). I would very much like to see our Austrismarchians again and get to meet some of the newer people :)

*waves at Xavie*

For some reason Nethersmarchians doesn't sound that great, so I'll stick to dutchies, but I'd love to meet you people again :) .

So it's looking more and more like Kassel will be *the* moot to be?

I'll set up two different threads for Kassel and Stuttgart. We'll leave the rest of Europe tour here for the time being, ok?

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

There will be another event in Bern on October 10th.

And there will be another event on October 21st. This will be the event won by a German bookstore for their Tad displays in a contest held by Klett-Cotta this spring. No details about the winner yet.

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

Hi!

I am newly registered long time lurker (and by long time I mean since 2008 or 09 or something like that, checking in irregularly). :)

I will definitely be in Lörrach, since that is sort of my backyard. My husband even bought my last birthday present in that very comic book store :)
Anybody else here who is going to attend?

Greetings from Switzerland,
Diorna
