Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

Tad´s German publisher tweeted sometime in the last couple of days that Tad would be coming to Germany to promote new books in October 2017. However, I cannot find that tweet now.

There was nothing specific in it, but this suggests that THE HEART OF WHAT WAS LOST and/or THE WITCHWOOD CROWN will be published fall 2017 in Germany.

Since October is Frankfurt Book Fair and also the Dragon Days 2017 festival might be around that time frame (for this year they switched to an October date rather than July/August as in previous years).

Maybe there will even be a book tour.

Yes, I read that tweet as well. I have to pitch Kassel to Deb asap. There is a tiny chance she might come as well. I so much want to show them my beautiful hometown. Smarchmoot ahead Eurosmarchers!

I really hope we can make a big EU moot happen, it's been too long :)

I'll certainly try to make it to wherever a moot happens.
I just hope it won't be too late in the month, because taking time off close to All Saints' Day is not such a good thing...

*bounces* Hannover is my neighbour city. This is the best I could hope for - Braunschweig is too small to host such events :/

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

Hannover would probably be easiest for Merenwen and Ylvs as well. Stuttgart is easier for the Smarchers from the Netherlands and Austria. I suspect Tad will have very little time at either stop as he has a reading the next day in a different city, but the 2 readings where he may have more time (unless they add more stops) are in smaller cities (I think) and thus pretty hard to get to.

I have no idea how much there is to see in Hannover, but we've already been to Stuttgart, so Hannover seems like a good bet for a moot, especially if we can get some new Smarchers to show up. You know, get them into the moot thing until their souls are lost...

You're from Braunschweig? My brother lives there.

This late in the year there is not much to be seen at Hannover. It is more of a summer city in terms of sightseeing for they host lots of festivals and a firework competition during this time . Even the Oktoberfest will be over at this time. Magpie might like the Herrenhäuse Gärten though :)
In terms of 'seeing' something the bigger cities might be more convinient. Heidelberg perhaps? Since this would be my first moot I'm not quite sure what kind of things you guys would enjoy.

Yup, born, grown up and living (and working) in Braunschweig. It is a nice little city. How long has your brother been living in Braunschweig, Gabriele?

My brother studied there, then did his internship with the DLR and got stuck. :-) I'd need to count how many years, but it must be 20 at least.  My father had lived in Braunschweig for some years as a child as well.

I know the place quite well, and I have a soft spot for Henry the Lion.

I suspect Tad will be several days in Stuttgart and have more events with the Dragon Days festival (as yet unannounced). And his publisher is also in Stuttgart.

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

That would have to be at a different time then, as the current schedule has him doing a reading in Stuttgart one day and in another city the next day. It's all the same to me, really, as long as it's easy to get to that city (which probably means a decently sized airport). Stuttgart might be doable by train as well, everything else is a bit far for that.

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

He might arrive in Stuttgart on the 18th.

I also think he will be at the Frankfurt Bookfair (11th -15th).

I [edit]can't commit for[/edit] quite a while yet, so just plan whatever suits everyone else best, and I'll see if I can make it there too.

Re: Tad coming to Germany in October 2017

I'll definitely try to make that, wherever it happens. And we definitely need more information about Tad's schedule before we make a decision. As you said, plenty of time left.
