Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: QM - Digital Ghosts

Thanks, so do we. Ivo will call them tomorrow. But it will likely be days again before we know anything.

Re: QM - Digital Ghosts

That's highly annoying, magpie. I always hate it when I don't know why something hurts.

I just finished the text for my last slide. Now I have to figure out how to learn this by heart before tomorrow. Oh, and did I mention that I have near zero motivation...

Re: QM - Digital Ghosts

Remembered another funny moment from yesterday:

Drummer Cousin (who competed in the Eurovision Song Contest last year) currently has long(ish) hair and a beard.
He was sitting on a bench out in the garden, and our grandmother looked out of the kitchen window and teasingly asked, "Who's that girl sitting over there?"
My aunt: "It's Conchita Wurst!"

Re: QM - Digital Ghosts

I've now practiced until my throat is going dry. I think I can get through my presentation without stumbling too much. I'll just have to practice one more time tomorrow. Preferably _before_ my presentation. :)

For now I'll just pack and get ready to go to bed. Ivo has also been working on a presentation tonight, with a colleague of his, who he is now driving home. So I'll be nice and wait till he returns.

Re: QM - Digital Ghosts

*drops into the mint*

What a horrible day.... We had to scream at the team... They really really messed up... Got so annoyed that I took way more smoking breaks than usual so now feeling icky in my throat... The guys normally really work okay, but they are slowly but certainly letting go of processes, rules and weird stuff is happening... On top of that one of them is constantly off sick or his car has issues or something else happens and he got really stroppy today when we told him the "no, you can't suddenly call three hours after you should have started and ask to work from home and no you cannot use a day in lieu for a bank holiday that you haven't worked yet"

Really not fun....

Re: QM - Digital Ghosts

Oh,  Libra,  I'm so sorry :-{ What a crud day.

Now I really want a cigarette!  I even found a whole one on a walk this morning and saved it Just In Case.  Because life has been like that lately.  It's almost bad enough that I start buying packs again,  and drinking. Because frak it all.

Mom took a downturn today.  Very quickly. I am in the ER,  and she is septic. Apparently she was septic Oct 18 as well,  but no one told me.

In a way,  this makes it easier. If she recovers,  there is only one option.
