Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Re: Quiller's Mint - The Back Room 2

Tomato sauce Gigi? Is that for a posting milestone?

If i eat tomato sauce it came out of a can, bleeve me...

I don't *cook*. i mean I can heat things but unless and until I move, or the apartment stove goes belly up in a way they can't blame me for so i'd get a new one, I'm mostly into things like boiling a little water for pasta or heating rice and beans. or frozen food in the microwave. It's one of these horrible avocado green (when were avocado green kitchen appliances last fashionable?) things with PUSH BUTTONS. You can't even really control the temperature, it's wired weird so you can never really use all four burners (but if i can get two to work that's okay), and once i had to have it repaired because it was making sparks (Scared the **** out of me! I cleaned down inside them because i though maybe it was grease but a wire had come loose. Still sparked but didn't even set off my alarm, so called the manager. they just put in another coil or something.... well I WISH it would die, apartment stoves are kept till they die or until there's a major remodel which means you're not living there anymore, whichever is first! anyway it doesn't get hot enough for things like stir fry, there's NO storage space for extra electric goodies or woks or cuisinarts. SO i heat things, eat too many ubheatlhy packaged foods or eat out....

well one must be careful what oen asks for. If the whole thing caught fire I suppose it would be time for a new stove. but it would also be time for a new apartment. There's more vacancies and you can actually get move in bonuses in silly-valley now (the dotcom downturn) but it's still anything but cheap.

Yeah, they went about their usual time, but were very, very fussy because they hadn't had naps. It was more of a challenge than usual to maintain happiness. There was much falling down, bumping into things, arguing over toys. (And since neither of them can really talk yet,  arguing consists of physical intimidation until someone ends up crying.)

Well, it sure killed conversation, at least.

Unless everyone moved to another, cooler, hangout.

Maybe even the Lotus!

Hey, Bumadax, you're a Grand Experimenter.  Would you go look at the newly transfered version of both that and the GE Commentary topics in the Writer's forum and see if they look okay.  I just want to be sure before I delete the old versions.

Thanks...!

Hey Bumadax,

I'm cruisin' through the Writer's Place -- gotta say, I like your suggestion for curing writer's block. In fact, it's the only thing I've ever known to work. Just write something.

Re: Quiller's Mint - The Back Room 2

Oh, easy, I just curled up every night with a picture i drew of all of you while listening to a tape of myself pretending to be all of you (I'm not nearly as clever on the tape as you are here...).  I took some old refridgerator boxes and cut doors, taped them together and scrawled Quiller's Mint across the front door.  I slept in there.  It made me feel much better.

LOLOLOLOL

Why! do I hear the word "PROSE" everywhere I go, and look it up in the dictionary, look it up on dictionary.com, then read examples of it, then STILL (ahhhhhhh) don't know what the **** it is?

Was Tad's lil' super-silly blerb anything like prose?

Re: Quiller's Mint - The Back Room 2

*tries to interpret Tad's post*

Hmmm...

"Back when the soon has come, yes?"

Does this mean "back soon" or does it mean, "Think I'll get back anytime soon? Yeah right."

Libbette, my girl! How goes it!
