Re: QM - the mad office
It's supposed to be dry today (after rain all day yesterday), so I'll probably do a few more hours of garden work for that one customer. I keep going back and forth between "no, don't wanna" and "yay, extra money". While I'm doing it, I don't mind the work, but I don't like coming home late. Well, today is the last day I can do it, anyway. Other stuff getting in the way the rest of the week, and I already told her that I won't be able to do anything from next week on, as I'll probably have to work overtime at the nursery.

Re: QM - the mad office
Bloody cold today, so I did not spend as long as usual working in that customer's garden. And my boss made me laugh again, by coming back in from the parking lot as a customer was driving away, and saying, "What a cow." Personally, I rarely say anything. I just make faces, roll my eyes or stick out my tongue behind their backs. And my thumb still hurts, but not as much as it did this morning. Writing is a little difficult, though.

Re: QM - the mad office
Well work is back to semi-normal now. Coworker had to go out of state on family business so I had to take over her duties. Not at all hard, but it definitely made the days go by faster as I actually had stuff to do. Now I'm back to looking up ISBNs *eyeroll* Oh the excitement! Boss had given me a task, to reconcile a specific vendor account that we do a TON of business with, and was expecting it to take forever and be really complicated, as that account had never been reconciled. The worst part was finding out the 3 "companies" (really divisions) were all on one statement from the vendor... After that, it went quickly and there were exactly 0 issues. And I finally muddled my way through that other vendor mess (them not billing us correctly, us not billing customer correctly, ughh it was a nightmare) and found out what REALLY happened, why it happened, and how we can settle it. Now it's just up to the higher ups to read through what I found and decide how and when to settle the matter so I can FORGET ABOUT IT until September when the customer renews their contract...

Yay to finishing stuff, Ad1tu!
I just wanted to sand the game pieces in a game I have, so I can paint them another color (as I have the game twice and want to make it a four-player game, instead of a two-player game). But it's raining, so I couldn't do it outside, and don't want all the dust inside the house. Guess it will have to wait.

When you're done, you totally have to bring it to the very next gamesday. Megafjords FTW!

Re: QM - the mad office
I'm so ready for the weekend - but still two days to go. Again got home very late two days this week, so I'm terribly behind on plant-watering (the living room should have been done on Sunday, and now it's Thursday!) and cleaning, and all that dirt and untidyness is making me so uncomfortable!

Re: QM - the mad office
So I went to the gym for the first time EVER this morning before work. Rode the elliptical, felt like I was gonna die, lol. Gonna have to ease my way into doing cardio, since I've never really worked out before. Lifting some heavy things is on the schedule for tomorrow! (Ok, heavy relative to my strength...)

Re: QM - the mad office
I always joke that other people have to pay to go to the gym, I get paid for it (because my job can be pretty exhausting).
The mess here is just getting bigger and bigger, but at least I'm more or less caught up on plant-watering. And I'll take a few tomato plants in to work tomorrow, to sell them. And I have a homegrown salad, yum.

Put the first layer of paint on my Fjord game. And yes, Aan, I'll definitely bring it along the next time I come round!

Re: QM - the mad office
Making some small steps towards non-chaos. One bathtub-load of plants showered, in the hope that this will have washed away some bugs (aphids and spider mites), and it helps with watering too, tomatoes staked, and six picked out to sell tomorrow. A couple more will go out on the balcony during the day-time, which frees up some more windowsill-space. Now, dishes. And cleaning the kitchen. Crumbs, crumbs everywhere! Ick!

Re: QM - the mad office
Yeah, I have to do the dishes too. And I really have to find some time this weekend to repot my seedlings.

Gah. Seedlings. Don't remind me - I need to start seeds, too. And I don't know where to put them!
Well, at least the kitchen is clean. At least, I have one room where I don't have to look at chaos.

Re: QM - the mad office
Oof. Day 2 of gym workouts. Today was arms... Military dumbell presses, lateral raises, shrugs, bicep curls (on the machine), and 5 min of elliptical. Am quite pooped, but not feeling discouraged! I was able to complete all the reps/sets I told myself except for my very very last 20lb curl. It was hard work, but I feel like I actually accomplished something, whereas when I rode the exercise bike yesterday I was bored to tears and got off feeling like all I did was tire myself out... Nothing was sore, just tired.
Fiancee pointed out something interesting to me. A couple things, first off that I was one of 5 total girls that did any lifting vs the 15 or so guys that came and went in the 45 min we were there. Second, that of all the guys that were there, only 3 (including fiancee) did exercises that were not benchpresses or dumbell curls. Of the girls, 1 was grandma-aged that was doing lat pull downs (like a boss!), 1 was doing cardio, 1 was doing light weights (relatively in shape, so since she seemed to have been working out for a while, she should've been able to do more), 1 came in towards the end and was working out with her hubby using some arm/leg machine, and the last was me. But basically... almost everyone seemed to be doing very specific workouts (guys working only arms/chest, girls doing things in their plans their trainer gave them) whereas we both would like to do full body strengthening. Not that that's all bad but... so what if your arms are strong if you have no back strength or leg strength? So many people are in it to look better, not necessarily feel better or be stronger.

Re: QM - the mad office
Weekend at last. Not that it's going to be very relaxing, I need to shower/spray all my plants. It's raining, cold and unpleasant, and I would love just to spend the weekend in the bathtub, but that's occupied by a load of dripping wet plants, and will be for most of the weekend.

Well if you're going to put plants in the bathtub, you should make them aquatic plants so you can sit in the tub too! ... Right?

Re: QM - the mad office
On and on with the plant-showering. Another two or three bathtub-loads to go... and each takes several hours to dry enough that I can take them out again, so that'll take the rest of the day. And tomorrow, the fun starts all over with the neem-spraying. Well, at least I'm not getting any visitors today, so I don't have to worry so much about making a mess.

Re: QM - the mad office
And finally, the last plants are showered, and shopping is done. On the way home, I learned that metal plant stakes are less sturdy than bicycle spokes, but that's a good thing - the stake slipped and got caught in the rear wheel, which could have had a nasty ending, either for me or the bicycle, or both, but instead, the stake just bent and then broke.
