Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

the concept art will be done by Matt Rhodes

The one included example looks gorgeous. Wonder if we can get Matt to post some more here.

Re: Tailchaser Movie in the works

I've never yet been happy about any film based on a book I'd read, so I don't know whether to be excited or worried. The picture looks good, though.

Re: Tailchaser Movie in the works

I've been away from the board for awhile, but this is quite some news to come back to. I'd be pretty excited to see this movie. Like many fans, I would hope that the movie translates the spirit of the book 100%, but I am able to tolerate some deviation from a word-for-word book to movie adaptation. I'm definitely going to follow the news on this.

So what prompted a movie version of Tailchaser's Song anyway?

So, the artwork shown at Austin Comic Con looks amazing! :)

Re: Tailchaser Movie in the works

Well, I really hope this gets made, but according to the article they are still looking to find production partners and distributers. *keeps fingers crossed*

[This sentence, however, I do not understand: "They are more concerned with fans of the book supporting their decision to change the story to both better represent the heroic nature of Tailchaser and improve the representation of female characters."]

Re: Tailchaser Movie in the works

Sounds like they are beefing up a female role, ala Arwen in LOTR.

Re: Tailchaser Movie in the works

I just want one of these projects actually to happen.  I have a lot of confidence in the Animetropolis people, and apparently they're most of the way there.

I'll let you guys know when it's definitely GO -- meaning, it's being shot.

I think we all feel that way, Tad! The TS movie, the Otherland game... there's a name for projects that take this long: "development hell". Luckily, such projects can still come to fruition. I'd love, love, love to see TS in the theater. Even with Meowen. ;)

It hasn't been shot yet? As in, it's still in pre-production? Yikes!

Re: Tailchaser Movie in the works

Any happy updates on this particular project?  IMDB lately says 2018 release....

Maladroit, are you suggesting that imaginary chickens have no feelings?

You better be careful with that, or we might get boycotted -- well, chickencotted, I guess.  And that would make for a very paltry poultry party.  Which would be a pity.
