Gandalf is still with my mother and brothers - I don't think they'd let me take him.
And recorder, in this case = Blockflöte. I've always found that an odd and confusing word, too.

Linzer torte....? Must be possible to get some in Linz.... *evi grin*

At least you noticed it in time, Libra. With Gandalf's bladder problems, we didn't notice until it was nearly too late.

As for the Linzer Torte, oh, definitely. Side trip to Jindrak on Saturday, I think (that's the bakery where it was supposedly invented.)

Yes... well I was kind of thinking that I might have overreacted, but the vet was quite clear that I had not.... But it was mostly his behaviour that notified me... I mean Bobby is normally so laidback and cool... completely not his style to whine and even make scary angry noises....

Re: Austria Moot II
Told my best friend about the upcoming moot today, to which she said, "And I wasn't invited?" So since most of you met her at Castlefest last year, would you mind if she joined us for a day?

Of course not! After having put up with us at Castlefest, she's practically been initiated anyway!

Yeah, I was planning to ask if you had any games you could bring. I've got Carcassonne somewhere (I do hope I get everything unpacked), and Uno, and Mikado, I think. And a Harry Potter game we made up some years ago, but that's only for two people.

Re: Austria Moot II
guys, I'm not sure wether I'll be able to make it. reason one is I'm terribly sick with a stomach-flu and I'm home till wednesday at least, and it's making me really weak and exhausted. reason two is that we have to get our water heater serviced URGENTLY, it works with gas and seems to be leaking(EEEK! we can only shower with open window till it's checked out or we may actually die.), the appointment for the service is next friday and I have a feeling that it will be terribly terribly expensive. If that's true, I won't be able to afford the trip. Stupid thing is, I won't know until friday:(

Sisterdew, that's horrible news! Because I managed to do some juggling with my finances and vacation (holiday) time, and figured out a way that I could attend this moot!
Okay, not really. :-(
Seriously, if you have a gas leak in your home, it is very dangerous and you need to do whatever you have to, to get it fixed. Spare no expense! I am SO not kidding about the dangerous part!

Re: Austria Moot II
it's not actually the gas that may be leaking, but carbon-monoxide which is kinda more dangerous as one can't smell it. A gas leak we would be able to smell ourselves in no time. Carbon-monoxide has to be tested for. We're totally aware of the danger, hence the open windows while using warm water in winter. so yeah. that's my priority right now.

According to Wikipedia, carbon monoxide is a gas.
It sure is- I meant that it's not the gas that the heater burns is leaking, but the exhaust. The exhaust doesn't smell, the one that get's burnt does.(because they mix something into it to make it smell so it can be easily detected) both can kill you, one silent, one with a big BOOM.

Re: Austria Moot II
Oh noes! Can you put a little canari in the bathroom so you know when the carbon-monoxide concentration is getting dangerously high? I don't want you to die! Also, have you talked to your landlord about the problem? I would totally try to make the water heater their responsibility and let them pay for it.
And Cyan, it's very very mean to mock other people's expectations of you coming to moots! If you say you come to a moot then you have to come! This is not a laughing matter!

And kill the poor canari? *is shocked*
Seriously, it's just a suspicion(voiced by the chimney sweep, though) and the heater apparently hasn't been serviced in years, and it just needs to be done. Just sooner than we thought. Our landlord is the city of Vienna, we'll have to see if we can make them pay for it- it mostly depends on how much it is, and it also depends wether the heater has been serviced every year(so the damage would be unexpected and not our fault. It's not our fault that it didn't get the annual service, but we have to bear the conseqences) but either way we have to pay when the service is done and ask them to give us the money afterwards.
It might not be very bad, but those services are expensive even if there's nothing wrong!

Oh, booh. I do hope it turns out to be nothing, 'dew, but if it's really leaking, lucky that you noticed! Better one missed moot than dying!

Sorry xavie, I didn't mean for that to come across as mocking. :-( It was actually wishful thinking on my part. I was quite bummed that I didn't get to spend more time with you and Aan at Castlefest because of the rain.
ETA: and boy did we get soaked! I ended up buying a dress to have something dry to wear that evening after we left.

Bummed as I still am about sisterdew's news - can you believe it's only a few days away? *bounces excitedly*
Time to think about what to cook - anything you can't/won't eat, anything you absolutely want to eat or drink (I don't usually have much at home in the way of drinks, since I mostly drink water and herbal teas, so place your orders now!) Tea for Aan, of course - you'll have to tell me what kind, though - and no meat for xavie, right?

Re: Austria Moot II
I remember Aan being really happy about getting some Lapsang Souchong in that last coffeehouse we went to:D
So, health-wise I'm fully able to come, but the final decision will have to wait till Friday after we get the heater fixed.

Water, herbal tea and no meat sounds lovely :D Some kind of stinky black tea (e.g. Lapsang Souchang) will certainly be highly appreciated by Aan, but I'm sure that it also miraculously will find it's way into our travel bags.
Food, food, food... I'm very unimaginative right now. I can't think of anything. Do you have any special food things, like a fondue set or a barbeque? Then we could do that? We haven't applied the 3 magical rules of skewer making in a long time. (I know barbeque in february is kinda silly, but I really can't think of anything else right now).
P.S. Cyan, I'm sorry, it seems I really need to tune up my irony buttons! I didn't mean to be rude, I was just trying to be funny and obviously totally failed. Aargh!
