Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

You can have mine. It's more like two jobs, but you have to take them both.

Just keep hunting for one! Eventually one will fall into your lap.

Re: QM - SPQR

I dreamed that I got a new phone. Woke up thinking that was real, and wondering why the heck I would have done that. I don't need a new phone. Apparently, I've been trudging through too many shops yesterday.

And then I had a flat tire on my bike, and had to walk a couple of miles to get home. Now I have to figure out how to fix it.

I've got a nasty cold and am at home(new flat) with the cat. It's cozy.

Re: QM - SPQR

Well, that was a lot easier than I expected, even though it was the rear wheel. The biggest problem was that I couldn't find our patching kit and had to go buy a new one. That and getting my hands clean afterwards.

Maen Mint!

Just a few minutes left before I head off for dinner. Going out for dinner with my ex-bosses. I'll probably have to fight over who pays the bill. :) (i.e. they'll probably insist on paying it, which I won't allow)

I found a beat up copy of Tailchaser's Song at a used book store and I'm trying to marathon read it before I get to Shadowheart! Condensed Tad reading can be tense!! :P

I have achieved laptopness!

Also, I got bedsheets. And had a write-in where we hardly wrote anything.

Re: QM - SPQR

The only problem is that it's still not connecting to our own network. Don't know why, so I can't fix it.

*is a-looking for jobs*

I'm in a very rebellious mood... job is getting so crazy that I have made steps to pursue my own mental health... one of which is to set my alarm for the time I'm supposed to go home according to my contracted hours as soon as I come into work.... Pffff.... I just don't know what else to do now....pfffff....

I don't even know if the problem is my computer... One of the lights on the modem is yellow instead of green, and I don't know what that means. *shrugs* I can get in through some neighbour's network, but it's slow.

You can always try resetting your modem.... is it wireless?

If I knew how that worked... I'm already planning to go looking for all the internet-paperwork to see if there's some sort of manual there. And if I still haven't got it to work by Monday, I'll have to call the support line.

Re: QM - SPQR

Magpie: Try turning the modem off for about 2 min and then back on again, either with the power switch and/or unplugging it from the wall. That's what I do when our internet doesn't work, and it usually fixes whatever the problem really was.
