Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

More like, "oh the poor babies!"

I know I should do the dishes now, but I think I'll take some tradescantia cuttings instead. Doing the dishes doesn't earn me money, tradescantias do (when I sell them to my boss).

Have three recruiters chasing me.... I'm wanted.... and they're all offering me positions in my neighbourhood.... Less than 30 minute drive!!!! This is making me quite happy!

Re: QM - The 80's

I can imagine - must feel amazing to be so "wanted".

I've finished my propagating. Now I just have to wait 3 or 4 weeks, and I can "harvest" some more money again.

*huggles Magpie and Em*

Yep... I have decided that my personal peace of mind and the ability to think further than "couch please" when coming home from work is worth way more than having the slight (1 in a 1000) chance to grow in a company that really couldn't care less....

Oh and at the moment I'm listening to the sweet tjirping of crickets that shall be sacrificed to the bearded dragons Gaiea and Medea tomorrow....

And now it's time for book and couch.... gah I'm so tired and one of my teeth has suddenly started aching... blergh....

Re: QM - The 80's

My best friend is ruining my ability to do my work with a straight face. Bad enough that we have one customer that looks like a character out of one of her stories, so I nearly die every time I see him. Now she has again compared my job to one of her characters', who is a human girl working in a pub run by vampires. And now I have to imagine my bosses as vampires - how will I look at them tomorrow without laughing?!

It is, isn't it? That means I'll start freaking out tomorrow. Mostly about what to bring down under...

I would say it is approaching on winged feet. Or maybe on lots of little feet ... like the luggage in PTerry's stories.

Which reminds me I should go looking for a large trunk. Cause we've got wild plans to actually create the Luggage. (Not for Worldcon though)

Re: QM - The 80's

Weekend! And I have Monday to Wednesday off. I'm going to see my boss again on Sunday, though, because he's taking me to the Arche Noah gardens (where they have lots and lots of weird heirloom vegetables) - the Arche Noah society is having an 20th anniversary celebration.

*drops into mint*

Gosh.... looking for a job is doing my head in.... there's so many things I'm interested in and there's just too many choices.... I really have to start getting a grip on my own interest-library... blah... or at least find some bit of guts to choose for something I want, instead of taking the easy way out and doing what I can do and have experience in....

Re: QM - The 80's

All right, time to go to bed.

And again, I haven't worked on my stories. I've been so busy scribbling away in my diary (something I haven't done in months), trying to sort out all sorts of more or less crazy thoughts, that I haven't had time for stories. I'm itching to write again, since I found out some things about my story at work, when I wasn't busy thinking about the deeper meaning behind my refusal to cook for anyone but myself and behind playing games with Smarchers instead of crawling into my sleeping bag... I blame Castlefest. I didn't have so many thoughts rattling around my brain before. It's really quite exhausting.
Exciting, though.

Anyway, bed. Bed.
