Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Re: Quiller´s Mint - The Treehouse

Hey, Shads.  Darn, I'm STILL the only boy.

I'd a been here earlier, but after talking about "Topsy Turvy" here last night, and then talking about it over dinner with friends tonight, we came home and it was on television, so we watched the last two-thirds or so.

Damn, that's a fine movie.

Nice to see y'all.  How did the go-go dancing go...go?

The go-go dancing didn't go much.  The cages were a bit unsteady.  We'll know better next time!

Wow, Tad, did you *gasp* leave the house in the evening?

Marian, isn't there any way you could censor it sufficiently to protect your reputation?

Oh, even better, you can just go change your profile to "Kianor" because he's out of town this weekend, then say whatever terrible thing you want.

Re: Quiller´s Mint - The Treehouse

You know on Thursday night I managed to bite my tongue hard enough to draw blood.  I imagine it felt something akin t' being nipped by a parrot or something.

And now there's this lump on my tongue, 'n I can feel it and it just won't go away....

<whispers>

Shads, you must have gleaned by now that I was one of those guys in school who really liked to hang out with groups of girls because then I had them all to myself.

I'm just pretending it's terrible so that no other boys show up.

Nah, we're stinky and we're mean.  And as teenagers...I recommend you start applying now to Swiss boarding schools for Devon.  Just from the time she turns 12 until she's 20 or so...

Re: Quiller´s Mint - The Treehouse

To answer an earlier question, Gigi, yes.  We got out of the house in the evening!

It damn near didn't happen, though.  We had to ask about ten different people if they'd babysit, and everyone had something going on.  But at the last moment we lucked out and were actually able to go out to dinner with grown-ups.

And, of course, I missed my kids.  But not so much that I wouldn't do it again.  Tomorrow.

Re: Quiller´s Mint - The Treehouse

I actually did go change my screen name, then realized it'd change back as soon as I went back to being Marian, and even if it didn't, that'd be pretty obvious. So, here's a bit from the Dish section of Jane.

***

[photos of people wearing something about 4 inches long, thin, ivory-ish]

When people find out that my necklace is actually the bone from a raccoon's penis, they either recoil in horror or demand to know where they can get their own. Author JT LeRoy frist introduced these lucky Appalachian amulets to literary hipsters in his genius debut novel, Sarah (now being adapted into a screenplay for Gus Van Sant to direct), in which truck-stop prostitutes wear them to attract tricks. So join celebs like me, Gus, Shirley Manson, Courtney Love, Hedwig's Mike Pitt and Brad Renfro, ,and buy your own bonie (which is impressively big enough for JT to sign), at www.jtleroy.com,  for $13. And there's a speical bonus for all you animal lovers: Each one is 100 percent left over from roadkill. You want to touch my neecklace now, don't you? - Joshua Lyon

Re: Quiller´s Mint - The Treehouse

Ooh, kids. Mine are visiting their grandma until Sunday. As a result, I just finished a chapter ahead of schedule.

I was in a good mood, but then I found a website with Midi's of medieval ballads and now I'm feeling sad for Sweet William, Barbara Allen, the sod under the Willow Tree, and the poor chap who can't cross o'er the Wide Water ('cause it is wide). And of course, there's the man who loves Greensleeves...

Re: Quiller´s Mint - The Treehouse

I called my best friend earlier today (because I just had to tell her about the six hummingbirds dive-bombing one another at the feeder) and was able to aurally witness one of her son's fits.  He's 4, and was totally pissed off that she had beat him to the phone.

Sometimes I'm glad to be childless.  Not often, but sometimes :)
