Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

And now it's time to actually go and do something about this tiredness. Night all!

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

*missed all the nice peoples*

*pouts and gives belated huggles*

Well.... I'll just add to the tired pile.... but as it is now 1.26 here, it's not surprising I'm tired... haha

Work has taken on manic proportions with our colleague leaving and my manager about to go on holiday, he all but said "here's the key, you're in charge" to m when I left work today.... And adding to that the power in the office was down for 2.5 hours today, so I actually earned money by wandering round the building and chatting to people.... which would have been nice if there wasn't that much work to do....

Tomorrow is car-spotting day.. wheeeeee!!! And I'm hoping with the dropped prices I might just be able to actually buy a brand new, shiny car... *crosses fingers muchly*
And then... heaven... there'll be no_more_carpooling!!!!!!!
No more being dressed, fed, all ready to go at 7.30 and not getting "the" phonecall until 8.15....
No more waiting and calling and hoping at end of day only to have someone say to me at 18.30 "Ooohhhh I completely forgot the time"...
No more driving to the carpool area (which is about just the distance my little old car can do at the moment) with high heels... and halfway to work hearing the words "Oh I'm sorry, can't take you home tonight" and having to walk km's on km's on high heels to get from work to bus, from bus to bus, from bus to car....
Heaven......

*dreams away*

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

*huggles Em*

I'm so all excited.... just the fact that little old me is going to actually buy a car!!! Woohoo!!!!
And the idea of retrieving my freedom finally... ah...

But the whole car deal, and the power shortage today did make me do a serious reality check... I'm soooo dependant on the car and electricity... it's almost scary how much owning a car (oh little edit to say a working car) contributes to my happiness, and it's downright terrifying how much we depend on electricity at work... I really had nothing more to do than clean up my desk.... all my stuff is in the computer....

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

The thought of losing power at work is scary. Not only the lack of computer (which everything is one), to be without AC! We have no windows to open -- it would quickly become unbearable.

And, yeah. I was without a car for a week or two whilst husband's car was in the shop -- I felt crippled. No getting up and going whenever. Had to plan.

Someday will find you.

Yeah I know.... horrible.....

But soon I'll be with car again....

Now... that sounds a bit strange when you read it out loud.... it's like I'm expecting...

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

Gah.... the tune of our newest addition to the choir-repetoir has been buzzing through my head all night...

It's one of three "Nonsense songs" really difficult music with extremely silly lyrics:

There was an old man in a tree
Who was horribly bored by a bee
When they said "Does it buzz?"
He replied "Yes it does"
It's a regular brute of a bee

The other one is:

There was an old person of Cromer
who stood on one leg to read Homer
When he found he grew stiff
He jumped over the cliff
Which concluded that person of Cromer.

Utter silliness.... I think Smarch has somehow worked its way through me and has infected the choir...

Looking at anything around the size of a volkswagen golf/polo.
First was preferring only vw, toyota or seat, but am making my search somewhat larger now, with all the shiny new car promotions....

Yes, definitely fun lyrics, but darn hard tunes...

It's amazing how when there is work to be done the same people are always missing.

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

Hmpf. So I thought going to bed early would enable me to get up early (for a Saturday, anyway). Instead, I slept for about 13 hours.

Re: QM - Bar de Doom

Well, I woke up for a couple of minutes several times, so it might not really have been 13, but that was the time I definitely spent in bed.

And now I'm still tired.
