Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

QM - The Easter Basket - Redux

Here comes Peter Cottontail
Hopping down the bunny trail
Hippity-hoppity
Easter's on its way!

A big, white fluffy bunny picks you up and dumps you in an over-sized easter basket. The floor is covered with plastic green easter grass, up to your knees. Solid chocolate bunnies stand at attention all around the walls of this Mint.

The floor is covered with gaily-wrapped chocolate eggs, jelly beans (careful, they do odd things - for further information, consult the Jelly Bean Factory of Doom). Bright yellow, pink, blue, white and lavender Peeps(tm) are stacked three deep in the corners. There's eggs of s'marchmellow, malted milk eggs, chocolate covered s'marchmellow bunnies ... whatever easter treat your heart desires.

Large (large enough to enter) hollow sugar eggs with wonderful scenes from favorite storybooks - Wizard of Oz, Winnie-the-Pooh, even Hayholt if that is where you wish to visit. The pastry maker will (of course) set you up with any storybook egg you desire.

There is a bar, staffed by chocolate bunnies. Nibbling on the barstaff is forbidden, but feel free to eat anything else you want.

Question of the Day: Should Peeps(tm) be eaten fresh or after they've been sitting around for a few days?

Re: QM - The Easter Basket - Redux

*is back*

No rushing off after all. Grandad is a bit better, but ... *sigh* I wanted this year to be better than last year.

Also: I wanted to buy shoelaces, not more books, dammit!

I'm glad to hear your grandad is better.

What books did you buy?

Re: QM - The Easter Basket - Redux

Parts 2+3 of the "House of Night" series. Entirely sisterdew's fault - she gave me the first part a while back, and once I've started reading a book/series I have to finish it.
Oh well. I need a new bookcase anyway.

Re: QM - The Easter Basket - Redux

"House of Night" series looks intriguing, unlike the other vampire series, which will remain unnamed because it is just stupid.

Re: QM - The Easter Basket - Redux

*grins*
I have nothing to compare them to - haven't read vampire books since primary school. As a matter of fact, I'm just rereading one of those primary school vampire books. It's silly, but cute. It has vampires believe that humans turn into dust if left outside in a new moon night, and stuff like that.

Re: QM - The Easter Basket - Redux

So this brings me up to exactly 333 books. Not nearly enough! Must have more books!

Re: QM - The Easter Basket - Redux

333 is a very good number. 444 is a better number.

Re: QM - The Easter Basket - Redux

But 555 would be still better.

Actually, if I add the primary school book, it would be 334. But that's not such a nice number.

Re: QM - The Easter Basket - Redux

Are you playing silly buggers with the data just to please some sort of aesthetic sense?

I'm playing silly buggers with everything just to please some sort of aesthetic sense. *nods* Usually it's flowerpots and trays, though. And name tags in the pots and trays.

G'maen Mint!

I'm having a lovely spinach & strawberry salad with hearts of palm and walnuts, yummmm.

Also, if you have 666 books, are they all evil?

Re: QM - The Easter Basket - Redux

*giggles*

That old vampire book is sooo cute. And I've discovered that some of the things I've always believed come from this book. I don't know how many arguments I've had with my classmates as a child about whether or not humans are animals. And now I suspect this comes from a scene in this baby-book where the main character's friend, a vampire child, refers to her as "a mammal".

Bummer. I make too much $$ to change jobs. Cannot find one close enough in salary to make the change worthwhile.

So, I am stuck here.

I lose 2 1/2 months of journeywoman pay because they cancelled the earlier exam date (so I'll be an apprentice longer than expected)

Re: QM - The Easter Basket - Redux

I am sorry, Magpie. I hate headaches. Dr. Goody's Powders work the best of me - can you get them over there? They are a mix of Aspirin, Acetaminophen, and Caffeine.

Time for me to go home! Yeah!

Someday will find you.
