If I got paid for all those pictures she wants... ah well. It's not like I never get any money from them. :D

Re: QM - The pink stables
Got home to a doorstep full of boxes! The dinnerware I ordered arrived. I love everything, except I am not quite sure about the plates. I chose green -- the rest are sunflower, turquoise and tangerine. On-line, the colors looked good together. In RL, not so much.
I need to order more plates, anyway. Only ordered four -- need eight.

*yawns*
I think I'll go to bed soon. Haven't studied or written, but I'm just too tired. Too much reading at night the last few days.

Re: QM - The pink stables
Still not in bed. Decided to practise the multiple choice test for the exam, took me five tries to get up to 28 out of 30 again, and there are some really, really badly phrased questions. And then I remembered I needed to check whether there was a newer edition of a certain horticulture book, and ended up ordering a different one, which hopefully will prove better than the outdated crap we have at work (the Bedding and Balcony Plants book is as old as I am, and a lot has changed since then.)

Have you ever noticed how many parallel conversations are going on in the Mint?
Husband likes the green. Will order more sunflower plates. And a gravy boat. And a relish tray. The gravy boat and relish tray in red.

Re: QM - The pink stables
There is always that -- Alexandra is rough on china. But, I've got two or three pieces of four different sets, not enough of anyone to feed everyone on the same china pattern.
This time, we got some fiesta ware -- so we can get replacements easily. The last pattern we had was recalled due to lead levels. *sigh* And I really liked it!

Re: QM - The pink stables
Let me know how sturdy the fiesta ware is. I've got parts of 2 different patterns, none complete, nor any pieces chip-free, due to bf. Nor do I have a full set of any glassware, except for those I hide in the cabinet. Same reason. Oh, and except for the set of 6 acrylic "glasses". Bf hasn't figured out how to break those yet.

Actually, I'm considering switching to all melamine. 'Cept you're not supposed to put those in the nuke machine and bf won't remember that.

Too bad bamboo plates are so difficult to find here, those things are darned near indestructible!

Re: QM - The pink stables
Fiesta ware is pretty hefty stuff. Might get chipped, but will be difficult to break.
Melamine? Is Corelle ware similar? My sister has some of that -- I don't like the way they feel when you cut food on them. Kinda like fingernails on blackboards.

Crate & Barrell have these: Bamboo Plates. Is that what you are looking for?

Re: QM - The pink stables
According to Corelle's webside, it's made of glass. Which explains that fingernails on blackboard thing.

Oh! Yes, like that but... um... not ugly. My mom has a lovely set of hand-painted bamboo plates, they've lasted over 40 years and not a single chip! Paint has faded though.
