Tad Williams' Message Board

Hello, babies. Welcome to Earth. It's hot in the summer and cold in the winter. It's round and wet and crowded. At the outside, babies, you've got about a hundred years here. There's only one rule that I know of, babies -- 'God damn it, you've got to be kind.'
-    Kurt Vonnegut, 1922-2007

Welcome to the message board for tadwilliams.com. All comments are welcome, whether kudos or brickbats. However, please bear in mind that Tad would like this to be a friendly, civil message board, at least in the relations between users. We reserve the right to remove postings, or even ban postings, from anyone who crosses the boundary of reasonable taste. Basically, you can argue vigorously with someone, but watch your language, okay? We have a lot of young readers as well as grown-ups, so please show them some respect.

But the main requirement here is: have fun.

Thanks, Em. :) I'm filling in the boring application part now.

Ooh, evil, Magpie! What fun.

Ack! There isn't a Mantis-type person around to unlock it.

*sits around the campfire that used to be the Mint, toasts smarchmellows and sings Kumbaya*

Shall we tempt Reg by hanging around here?
I miss him...

I'd rather not force anyone to listen to my singing.

Re: QM - The Room with a View

Okay, that wasn't too bad. I didn't finish, but the directions said I probably wouldn't. And I am sure I got the ones right that I did answer. It was all pretty basic. But I do hate IQ tests!

Would never get into Mensa....

Re: QM - The Room with a View

Now I am taking a hideously long personality test. And they probably won't even tell me the results, meanies.

Trying to study... bah.

I like that teacher, but we write things down so chaotically that I can't study from my notes.

Re: QM - The Room with a View

Okay, I put a lot of neutrals on that personality test. That'll probably put me in some really indecisive category.

Re: QM - The Room with a View

If I had to guess, it would put me as a non-risk-taking, logical, empathic extrovert.

*puzzles*

Would that be someone who is good at sales?

Eh, probably not. Guess I'll know if I hear from the gym!

Re: QM - The Room with a View

*shudders*
I wouldn't want to have anything to do with sales. Don't like having to deal with people.
Though I suppose, if I needed a job... compared to some of my dear colleagues, I'm quite good at dealing with customers.

Re: QM - The Room with a View

It's very rainy here. I'm thinking movie and popcorn.

And yeah, sales, the idea generally is unappealing, but I do like people. For me, it's usually more of a resistance to pushing things on people, but since at the gym it would just be giving a tour to people who are already interested, I would really have fun with that.

I feel like movie+knitting, but instead I have to memorize stuff about mildew and fireblights and whatever.

Which movie, Marian. *snarfs some popcorn*

Re: QM - The Room with a View

I'm having one of those years where having to find presents feels more exhausting than nice. Not financially, but just... I don't know. I don't like the feeling that I have to give people something.

I gave up most of the "have tos" years ago and focused on the "want tos."

Re: QM - The Room with a View

I wish I had time for more handmade gifts this year. As it is, I'll just be knitting mittens for one brother. The other... I dunno. Mama thinks about giving him a new computer, maybe I'll pay part of that.
